DD12 and I were buying some groceries this afternoon (to make Halloween cupcakes so I can win Mother of the Year!!) and we noticed an altercation just outside the store. At first it looked like a domestic abuse situation - a man had a woman face up against the glass (so she was looking into the store) and had her arms behind her back. The cashier said, "Did he get her?" and then she said, "He's our loss prevention specialist." She was apparently trying to shoplift and he followed her out of the store and caught and cuffed her on the spot. (Could he have been a regular police man undercover to have cuffs like that?) Anyway, it was scary but a good lesson for DD. Of course, I hope she would never steal anyway!!!!!! But, to see someone who had been caught by someone else watching a security monitor in a back room was very interesting to her. They led the woman back into the office and I assume police had been called.
