Take-Out Meals from Resort Sit-Downs?

Do any of the Disney Resort sit-down restaurants do take-out orders? I will be travelling to WDW with a toddler and it would be great to be able to order a nice dinner from say Boatwrights which I could take back to the room. The kid falls asleep around 7-8PM, which means we'd have to eat dinner around 6 or 630PM, which is way too early for us.

Thanks, Portie

The only place I know with sit down and take out is ESPN club, but I haven't really investigated. We did take food from the food court to our rooms, but I know that's not really what you are talking about. You certainly could give them a call to find out. I'm sure someone would have that information.

I would imagine so...we've never done a full takeout meal from a TS restaurant, but on our last stay at VWL, DH went up and ordered the Berry Cobbler from Artist Point. They put the cobbler and berries in a styrofoam container and the blackberry ice cream in a separate insulated cup. We were able to sit outside and just enjoy the most heavenly dessert ever!

So I would think you'd be able to do "to go" for meals from these restaurants. Might not taste as good, but I understand why you would want to.

I know you can order a take-out meal from Olivia's at OKW. The CMs at Boatright's have always been so friendly and accomodating, that I'd bet they'd consider it, especially if you gave them notice of your order.

Last fall we made a trip with our friends that have 2 autistic sons....we had ordered one night at Olivia's while we were staying at OKW and one of the boys had a meltdown before the food came....my friend left with her son and we stayed to wait for our food to come....the server offerred to pack any or all of it to go...we gratefully accepted and took it all back to the room....we had a lovely meal on our balcony and the kids ate in front of the TV....later in the week when we were staying at the CR they knew the boys had had enough for the day and one of them took the boys back to the room while the other got them sandwiches from the Food and Fun Place...after they were in bed they called the Concourse Steakhouse and ordered dinner and picked it up "to go" and enjoyed it on the balcony again....said it was much better than the room service they had ordered earlier....guess it just depends on the restaurant.

I have taken out from Kona Cafe, multiple times, and once from The Garden Grove at the Swan.

Another restaurant that will do takeout is Cali Grill. It must be something that they do regularly as they had special containers for the sushi platter. :flower:
