I have to make 15 dozen for our church bazaar. I am not really a baker. Anyone have anything to share that looks pretty and is ridiculously easy to make?

Thanks:yay:

I hope you don't think this is cheating, because all the work is done in the decorating, but I use refrigerated cookie dough to make gingerbread men, gingerbread Mickey's and my decorated sugar cookies. I just roll, cut and bake, then we get to have lots of fun in the decorating when they have cooled. We use different colors of icing, and lots of colored sugars and candies to decorate, and the kids have a blast.

OOh, I think I'll try those cake mix ones!

I have to make 50 dozen total, 3 different cookies (16.6 dozen of each) so I'm always looking for something new, easy, and cheap!

One of the ones I make will be this one - don't be put off by the refrigeration part. I like making the dough, then getting the kitchen cleaned up while it gets cold. Or you can make the dough a day or two ahead, then bake them when you have time. Also, for the family I take the time to roll them in sprinkles, but for 16 dozen, I just skip that part. :thumbsup2 It does make them look pretty, though. I like to place them on a tray alternating the red and green ones. It looks a LOT more festive than the effort it takes to make them. Also, you can obviously use any colors you want, it doesn't have to be red and green.

Kaleidoscope Cookies

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsps baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
1/4 tsp peppermint extract
food coloring
colored sprinkles

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
Add egg, vanilla, baking powder, and flavorings.
Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer
Stir in any remaining flour with a wooden spoon

Divide into 2 portions.
Add green food coloring to one portion; mix till combined and set aside
Add red food coloring to one portion; mix till combined and set aside

Roll colored dough into logs; roll logs in colored sprinkles. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours.

Slice rolls into 1/4-inch thick slices
Place on ungreased cookie sheet

Bake in a 375ºF oven about 8 minutes - they should not brown

Remove cookies; cool on wire racks

Get Roll of peanut butter refrigerated cookie dough
Shape into small balls
Push an UNWRAPPED Hershey's kiss in each
Bake:)

I make the cake mix cookies for any time I have to bring alot of dessert somewhere.
I made them for my grandson's communion party and people raved about how good they were.
If you make them and spread frosting on then they make great sandwich cookies. You can also use ice cream if you are going to serve them immediately. Or try cream cheese and some sugar for carrot cake cookies.
I use a melon baller to measure out exact amounts then roll them into balls and press flat. This way they come out the same size.
These cookies travel well too, place them in a pringles contanier.

Bake a cake. Let it cool. Crumble it. Mix in a can of frosting. Form into balls, about an inch, inch and a half. Roll in various coatings: chopped nuts, non-pariels, confectioners sugar, colored sugar crystals, sprinkles... don't make my mistake. Form a few cookies, coat. Form a few more cookies, coat. If you make all the cookies first, the frosting dries and the coating won't stick :umbrella:

What about doing a bar cookie? Every Christmas it is imperative that I make the 7-layer magic bars or else people around these parts start having meltdowns. LOL And it can't be easier!!!

Graham cracker crumbs mixed with melted butter, pressed into 13x9 pan
Layer a bag of butterscotch chips
Layer a bag of chocolate chips
Layer some coconut on top of chips
Sprinkle with chopped nuts (we omit these since nobody like nuts)
Then pour a can of sweetened condensed milk over top.

Bake at 350* for about 30 minutes.

My mouth is literally watering thinking of all those cookies:worship:. Thanks so much for the ideas. Maybe I will make a few of each.

Paula Deen's Ooey Gooey Chocolate Butter Cookies are very good and easy!

1 (8-ounce) brick cream cheese, room temperature
1 stick butter, at room temperature
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (18-ounce) box moist chocolate cake mix
Confectioners' sugar, for dusting

In a large bowl with an electric mixer, cream the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Beat in the egg. Then beat in the vanilla extract. Beat in the cake mix. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours to firm up so that you can roll the batter into balls. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Roll the chilled batter into tablespoon sized balls and then roll them in confectioner's sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 12 minutes. The cookies will remain soft and "gooey." Cool completely and sprinkle with more confectioners' sugar, if desired.

Interesting! The other nite, I had posted 3 other variations on my Cake Mix Cookie thread on the last page. I just added this one. :thumbsup2
