Take food into resorts?

This may be a silly question, but how many of you take food into the resorts and how do you do it? Do you carry bags of groceries right in or do you hide them in a suitcase? Does anybody even care? Anyway, we like to eat a quick breakfast in our room so we can get out and running, so we have to smuggle in food. We also plan on taking tons of water so we won't have to buy drinks in the parks. Any suggestions?

We took our snack stuff in grocery bags to our room with no problem last year.

Disney doesn't care if you're taking food to your room. They put those fridges there for a reason, you know? :) We don't carry anything with us because we fly in and use ME, but we have groceries delivered so that we have less expensive bottled water, a 6pack of DH's preferred brand of beer, and breakfast & late night snack foods like fruit, pop tarts, and chips.

You are allowed to take your own food in. We always take snacks, drinks and breakfast foods and fruit in. :)

We made a grocery stop before heading off to Poly last year. Gave our luggage AND groceries to the bell hop and he stored them for us while they finished cleaning the room. ::yes::

When we fly we usually just pack nonperishable in the suit cases. We are not hiding it. It is just easier to carry that way.
When we drive we usually have a cooler and bags of groceries that we carry in with no problems.

I drive in, so I buy my unperishables ahead of time and pack them in a copy paper box (it's much easier to roll in on the luggage cart that way). Then once I'm settled, I go to the grocery and buy the perishable items. I usually put the empty box and luggage cart back in the car to use to bring this food in as well. People who stay in the DVC resorts bring everything in, since they have the full kitchens. No one will say a word.

We bring in some water and pepsi into the hotel. They never have had problems with it.

AS I've been reading it; they don't care. Better yet; you can order your groceries online, get it delivered at the resort and if you haven't checked in yet, they'll store it for you untill you check in!!

Great! I was raised to always take food everywhere in order to save money, and old habits die hard. Looks like I'm not the only one! Thanks guys! :thumbsup2

I'm not trying to argue, but I just can't imagine there's a hotel in the USA that would have ANY objection to guests bringing food into the rooms. NONE. ZERO.

No sneaking or smuggling required.

In fact, I've ordered groceries twice from Gooding's. The standard procedure for a Gooding's grocery delivery is that they deliver directly to the resort's Bell Services department. Bell Services then calls you to see if you're in. If you are, a Bell Services CM will immediately deliver your groceries to you. If you're not in, Bell Services stores your groceries for you, and even keeps the cold stuff cold for you.

Between that and the fridges in the rooms, I'd say they bend over backwards to allow outside food.

We bring in a big 24 pack case of water and I have a Disney bag that I bring food in, stuff like granola bars, pretzels etc....no one has ever said anything and the bell hops are the ones that load up the stuff!
