Take Flight, closed?

Keys to the Kingdom has an age restriction of no one under 16. My dh and I did this tour last Dec. and really enjoyed it....my parents took our kids for the day. But it does kind of ruin some things.....every time dh and I hear Pinocchio say "I"m a real boy" we crack up laughing.... ('nuff said, I guess.....)

Anyway, the tour was great and we met some really nice people who we sat with for our lunch.

Hmmm....the Skyway is gone now too. It was closed permanently the day before we arrived for our trip in 1999. And, I can't recall when 20,000 Leagues closed....was that before or after 1996?

But hey, now you have Animal Kingdom to check out! Its a beautiful park.

20,000 leagues under the sea had closed last time I was there. It's sad the skyway closed too, fond memories riding those things.

I wasn't sure of the age restriction,
The Skyway has been closed a long time, and so has 20K Leagues.

Also, on DW and My Keys to the kingdom tour I asked about the 20K ride coming back. flat no; there is no way to make the subs accessible for one good reason.

Let's see... What all has changed?

Pooh has replaced Mr Toad. The Timekeeper is closed and it's hard to catch Carousel of Progress open. Journey Into Imagination is now in its third version and also its worst in my opinion. Some musical acts are gone including Future Corps in Epcot and the Hitmen in the Studios  . Some shops and restaurants have closed but I don't remember exactly when.

But you do get a few new attractions of course including the new Mission Space which replaces Horizons and Mickey's PhilharMagic. And of course, Animal Kingdom.

Yes, I had heard the very sad news about our dear friend Mr.Toad. One of my friends who is coming along in February was saying Journey into Imagination is just not the same since they've changed it. I was wondering, we'll be going to WDW on February 14th and from what I understand, President's Day is the 16th and the park is suppose to be crowded. Would they possibly open Carousel of Progress?

The Carousel of Progress is a hard one to predict. We were at WDW last March during Spring Break and the Magic Kingdom was VERY crowded. COP didn't open during the whole trip and a CM at information told me that she realized it was crowded and couldn't explain why COP wasn't open. Hopefully, it will be when you go!

Now Planogirl, you realize that the second version was the worst , Unless you are a die-hard Eric Idle fan, the second version was a bad fun-house. It got so many complaints that WDW had to redo it again in about a year.
Actually, I loved the first ride. If taken on it's own rights, the third ride is good and the more I ride it, the more I like it. It still doesn't compare to the original.

OK, here is another big complaint I have from then to now.
They used to have ears on everything available. We used to go and get a different kind of mouse-ears each trip. Now they have several but there isn't something new each year....I would say trip, but we have been going a lot lately

Test Track is awesome as well.

There is lots to do in AK, but there isn't enough shade.
(Specifically, I would take advantage of EE and go first thing to Kilimanjaro Safari. They feed the animals in the morning and they are awake. You will see a lot more, but the the "Plot" of the ride is kind of lost because of all of the delays due to animals in the road.) (I also like Triceratops spin...It reminds me of the game Mousetrap..even though I get blasted for liking it, I think it is FUN!)

DisneyJules, I am also planning to go around that time, maybe I will see you there!

Did I mention I love the new spell checker someone sent me that works as part of IE? I think it just saved me from getting banned:o

I won't get my hopes up but it does leave me with a glimmer of hope that it might be open.

OhanaFamily, Awesome, see you there! I'll have to wear some lime green :D I just found out that a woman I work with is going on the same week.
