OK just got in my ADR for 3 meals - here is my schedule for our 1st family trip to Disney me my husband and 2 boys 4 & 6.

August 27-Sept. 4

Sunday - Arrive in late afternoon just hang at CBR - swim eat relax

Monday - EPCOT - have a 1:00pm lunch at Garden Grill - head back to hotel for dinner and rest

Tuesday - AK - spend the day - any good places for dinner or should we just head back to the resort for dnr swim?

Wednesday - Magic Kingdom - spend the day - stay for evening if we have the energy - would like to have a sit down dinner that does not include characters, but also not so expensive any suggestions for this park??

Thursday - REST Day - well this is what i'm thinking - stay at hotel - swim play rest.

Friday - MGM studios - have lunce reservation at Sci-Fi - i've heard good and bad but think the boys will get a kick out of it. Stay for the Fantasmic show - planning on getting seats about 1 1/2 hours ahead of time and bringing our dinner in and wasting time eating.

Saturday - Magic Kingdom spend day - have dinner reservatons at 5:30 for chef Mickey - then thinking of heading to Epcot (maybe rent the stroller for this day) and the boys can maybe fall asleep and my husband and i can stroll the countries - see fireworks.

Sunday - Hit what ever parks we liked best - try to get to MK for the fire work show.

Monday - enjoy the pool in the am and then head to the airport.

I will be bringing 2 umbrella strollers for the parks - figure i can just park them somewhere if i don't need them.

any suggestions welcome

Lisa,
We went last week in August before and I would recommend an afternoon break every day! It is just sooooooo hot that time of year. If you plan on getting to a park first thing in the morning, then taking the afternoon break back at the hotel to swim and/or rest, you could head back to the park (or a different park if you have hoppers) for the evening. Otherwise, you might be too tired and hot to enjoy the night activities (it doesn't cool off much, even when the sun goes down!) Other than that, your plan sounds great! I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Sounds like you have it all planned! The last time I went to WDW it was my first time and it was also in August. There are two things I would do if I were you. 1. Don't forget your ponchos especially for the little ones, seemed like it rained everyday between the hours of 1 and 3. I got mine at Walmart they were green and the stood out from all the yellow ones that they sell at Disney. 2. I would definelty get one of those collaspable bags for dirty clothes, the resorts all have laundry facilities do a load before you leave, and plus that is one thing you don't have to do when you get back home. Unpacking is enough!!!!! And don't forget the sunblock!

Have Fun!

My only recommendation would be to avoid Magic Kingdom (and possibly EPCOT) on Saturday, Sunday or Monday of Labor Day weekend. That seems to be the busy park on weekends, let alone a holiday weekend. MGM/Animal Kingdom might be more bearable on those days. Or, if you are hopping, go to Magic Kingdom/EPCOT at night when it is cooler and the crowd level may be more manageable.

Lisaross, that's a great idea to bring dinner into the Fantasmic show to pass time waiting. Does anyone know if that is permissable? .
