Tai Chi

Hiya,
I've been reading various threads for most of the day instead of working... Ooops!
Anyways, I just wanted to get an idea of what goes on on these boards, esp. the cb and it appears you all have a lot of fun
I'm just off to my first Tai Chi class (I did some taster sessions 18mths ago but haven't found a class until now) and I can't wait! Looking forward to some deep relaxation... then I'll come back on here tonight and frantically try to read everything (!!) I've missed in the meantime....

I've always wanted to take a Tai Chi class but the time wasn't right or there wasn't one offered. What is it exactly...I mean I've seen people do it but what is the background of it...Is it just for relaxation and stretching?

I love Tai chi, I actually got thru to the 24 movements. I havent done it in about a year but it was very relaxing and also a bit of a light workout.

... very tricky tho!
There were three of us 'newbies' but the others know about half of the 'form' which is a set of 50 (?) movements you learn to do in sequence...
I will definitely be going back next week and trying to stick with it... it is relaxing and at the same time quite energising whilst still keeping your mind active as you really have to concentrate on the coordination of your arms/legs etc....
I'd recommend anybody giving it a go!
