Hey ya'll.
SadieDog...how was your morning out with your brother?
It was kind of amusing. The store where we were going to look for the linolium remnant moved. We asked a few people and they didn't know the new location. Neither one of us has a cell phone. It's not easy finding a payphone these days either. We were driving all around. We had to go to a gas station a town away to find a pay phone. There was no phone book so we 1st had to call information for the #. Then we called the store for directions. We finally found the store and a piece of linolium for his bathroom. It was an adventure.![]()

...welcome to the 21st century...
Yeah, I know. My husband has a cell phone from his work. We pay for 1 cell, but my daughter has it. That leaves me out.
We only have cell phones. So DD is out of luck for now. She keeps asking when she'll get a cell. I told her when she goes somewhere without us or another responsible adult, which means a few years away. She loses her stuff way too easily to get anything that nice.
My son is going into High School next year and would really like one. He told me he 'needed' one this year. Want to know his reason? He said he needed it for when he has detention b/c detention is so boring he 'needs' to be able to text people for something to do.How about planning on not getting detention in the 1st place. I asked how kids get away with texting during detention. He said they put a book in front of the cell and pretend to be busy. Then they text each other to 'talk.'

...that's what they ALL do...and not only in detention...
Your son is funny.Mine didn't get a phone until they started driving.

. . .tell me about it. . .I confiscated 4 cell phones this past week. Moms are so mad when they come to the school to pick up their kids' phones. I just don't understand why they are mad at me. I take the phone when I see the kid using it in the hallway. Period. You can't take it out and use it during the day. Period. No need to get huffy. You gotta let you kids live with the consequences of their actions.
Okay.
Soapbox.
Off it.
Boo just announced "Today is the best day of my life!"
All the Disney trips, all the gifts, all the other family vacations.
Today is the best day why?
She lost her first tooth.

Congrats! I hope the Tooth Fairy is prepared. Ours has put out more than expected when she was caught off guard and only had big bills in her fairy purse.
So... tired. Race fun. Hot. Dirty.
I need to shower, then take a bath to get all the grime and bits of tire rubber off of me. I see it was very quiet here today. I hope you were all out having fun.
