And why??

Think I'm going to have to start taking one of these, sick of the "sour stomach" (biggest complaint) and eventual acidy feeling after I eat. One of the many lovely side effects of having my gallbladder taken out.
Which do you prefer, and why?

ETA: Forgot to add Zantac!!

I am sorry you are having such a hard time.

I had terrible, horrible heartburn when I was pregnant with DS. Burning, horrible pain. The only thing that worked was Pepcid! It was like a miracle drug for me.

I hope you can find something to make you feel better.

Pepcid, it works for me. Never tried the Tagamet

Pepcid works for me. Both my parents have chronic AR, so I inherited it. It got worse this winter with one particular chemotherapy drug.

Pepcid is the only thing that helped and kept me pain free. Prev-acid, Zantac, Prilosec OTC, they didn't work. It got so bad my oncologist gave me a Rx forl...oh I can't remember the name! It's purple and starts with an N.
Never used it because the Pepcid helped just fine.

I like both....for itching. It works well and it is non sedating. I like them both for stomach issues too. I rarely have a problem unless I take naprosyn, which I don't even try to take anymore. That is the only NSAID that bothers me.

Pepcid AC complete. I was prescribed 3 or 4 things that did not work as well. My doc said, 'duh, take what works!"

So far Pepcid is in the lead......I should have made this a poll!!

Going to get one or the other tomorrow morning. Just looking for opinions on both.

Pepcid lovers---did you have the "sour stomach" too?? Pepcids website doesn't even mention "sour stomach", but Tagaments did. What about Zantac?? I'm going to change my title to include that I guess!

thanks all

I have good luck with Pepcid.

Tried it first, it worked, so I've kept with it.

I have never tried Tagamet. I seem to remember years ago when I was first a nurse Tagamet was the first of these types of drugs to come out and some elderly people had issues with confusion with it, and it dropped out of favor for quite a while.
