Tacos

Details please MsDisney: Soft or crunchy? Beef or chicken? Hot or mild?:)

Yum! We are having tacos for dinner tonight too! I realized that since it is one of my kids' favorite meals, they are willing to help make the whole dinner with tacos, fixin's, cheesy rice, refried beans, etc. Slowly but surely it got to be where they make the whole dinner by themselves. :goodvibes We have tacos once a week now and it's my night off from cooking.:)

We're a taco Tuesday house here :goodvibes DS (9) absolutely LOVES Tuesday. He will get out of bed and remark how happy it is that it's Tuesday because he can dream of his tacos all day :lmao:

I love tacos. Use to use Lawry's seasoning mix in the meat buit prefer the meat plain now. I like most tortillas but prefer corn. Use to fry them in oil but now I pan fry with a little bit of spray oil. MMmm.

That's how we do them - corn tortillas fried in some oil. We use plain ground beef (no seasoning) with sauteed chopped onions. Yum. The only downside is that they break open because they're so soft from the oil. But then you wind up with basically a taco salad on your plate, so all is good, haha. :goodvibes

I do crunchy (or fried flour ones) with refried black beans, roasted pepper and onions, cheese, Ortega taco sauce, avocado, and a dab of sour cream.

Dh and the boys do all the above but with meat, too.

Love tacos!! Haven't had them in a while, so I think I need to get the ingredients and make them this weekend!!

We always grew up with corn tortillas, fried hard in oil with unseasoned ground beef. I still like them this way, but sometimes I will use the taco seasoning packet in the meat. Still love the freshly fried hard taco's but, I admit, sometimes I take the shortcut and used the boxed ones. :guilty: Generally though, that is because it's a work night and I just don't have the energy or time to make them fresh.

Its taco night here tonight!! We do crunchy and soft tacos. I use ground chuck, the seasoning packet and add a can of diced tomatoes to the mixture (no need to add water) So yummmyy. We also shred sharp cheddar cheese. I make my own sauce...one can of diced tomatoes, one can zesty mild pepper tomatoes, garlic salt, salt and pepper, minced onion. Put all in the food processor. Use it on tacos or with chips. We also use it on burritos! Now I'm getting hungry!

Wow. A cutting edge discussion on the CB. tacos :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Only ignorant people make fajitas. The smart ones make tacos. :sad2:

mmmm tacos...I was going to make tacos but I have some mushrooms about to go bad so I made chicken in the crock pot instead. :) Tacos are huge in this house, but the girls don't like shells so we just make them on our plates as if they are salads. sooooooooooo good.

Alright, the CB has gotten me again. What can I say, I'm pregnant and susceptible to suggestion! I read this this morning and have been craving tacos all day.... I look in the fridge and (it's a miracle because I never have all the ingredients for a spur of the moment dish).... we're having soft steak tacos for dinner, tonight! :cool1:
