Tables in Wonderland Question

Hi everyone!


I'm 16 and my family is going to WDW in June. We're AP holders (and DVC members, but that's unrelated ) and are considering buying a Tables in Wonderland card. If my 17 year old friend and I go off to a table service dinner by ourselves, will we be able to use the card as long as I have my AP with me? I know you have to be 21 to purchase the card, but I don't know if that applies to using it as well.

Well the TIW card can only have one person's name on it. IIRC, the written rules say something about a CM checking your ID to see if the names match when you use the card. In 3 trips with a TIW card, the only times they checked my ID was a few times in resort food courts. Never once in a TS restaurant did they ask for my ID as well. You can even use a credit card with a different name on it to pay the bill.

Having your AP with you is not an issue, it's not a requirement for the card holder to show it.

So my guess is you could do what you're asking. Just be prepared that on the off chance a CM asks for ID, you won't get the discount.

Sometimes I have been asked to see ID when I have used it and other times I have not. If you look like you are too young to buy the card you are more apt to be asked to see an id. I could also see them confiscating the card if they ask for id and you can't produce matching id.

I have a TiW card and was asked for an ID only one time. However, I agree that if you look younger than 21 they very well may ask you for the an ID to identify that you are the official name on the TiW card. I think it might be a problem for you to use.

They charge $50 for a second card for an additional family member, so the TIW card is definitely not transferable to another family member.

The cardholder must be 21 or older, and the cardholder must be present at the meal. It usually does not happen but sometimes they ask for ID. If you're asked and you can't prove you are the cardholder (that is, the person whose name is on the card), I do not know if they would confiscate the card, but you certainly wouldn't get the discount.
