Tables in Wonderland question

I'll call again on Monday morning but was on hold for a long time while at work yesterday and really couldn't stay on the line any longer. So I thought I'd just see if anyone knew the answer to this.

My parents are DVC members and go 2-3 times a year to the World, so always do annual passports. Since they don't do a lot of counter service restaurants, I thought TIW would be perfect for them.

I wanted to give it to them as a Christmas gift to try. Is there any way for me to buy it for someone else? I can probably manage to nick their passport number sneakily next time I am at their place...

Would this strategy work?

Probably not if you buy it in person at the park, as the AP holder has to present the AP to purchase the membership. I doubt they will allow someone to buy a membership for someone else without that person being present.

You could give them a gift card with $75 on it and tell them to buy themselves a membership.

On the other hand, see if you can get through to TIW, ask about ordering it by mail. You would have to have one of your parents' AP numbers. I don't remember the last time I ordered by mail, though. I don't know if they require any further information.
