I am trying to purchase a TIW card via phone. All day yesterday and today, I have attempted to call during their business hours (9-5) and after listening to the recording, I press the option to talk to a customer service rep. Once I get transferred, the line rings and rings with no answer or no voice mail. Is anyone else having this problem?

I realize I can purchase it on property, however, I want to order by phone so I have it when I first get there. I did speak to a customer service rep from TIW a few months back and she recommended I purchase by phone. Ugh!

Do you have enough time? You need a month before your trip in order to be sure it will arrive on time. The card is active from the moment you order it, so the 13th month would be ticking away while they process and mail to you.

I always get mine on arrival and it only takes a few minutes. You can get at DS or any park. I like that extra month, and not worrying about it arriving on time. I'm going to guess that most do and they don't order it via phone.

I'll comment from personal experience.... What you describe OFTEN happens. ESPECIALLY during morning hours. People seem to get tied up in meetings :(.
Now, the effort IS WORTH IT. A TIW card via mail will be hard plastic stock.... one at WDW will be paper. I've lost count of how many times wait staff have commented that we have one of the TIW cards that WORK :).

Thanks! I was finally able to get someone yesterday - I guess patience pays off!

Reviving this thread rather than starting a new one since the title pertains to my question.

We are AP holders but were not going to get a TiW card this year. However, if someone wanted to gift one to us, can I give them the TiW phone number and they can order and pay for a card for us (putting the TiW card in our name of course)? I wasn't sure if they could order it since they are not AP holders, even though they would put the card in our name as the AP holder. Maybe if they just mail a voucher we can just go to GR and activate it? Seems like they'd need to see our ID anyway.

Thanks!

I would ask the people to give me a giftcard for it instead. Then just buy onsite the moment you get to a guest services.

If you qualify for TiW by being an Annual Passholder, it's currently $25 off the normal price of $150.

Thanks! I didn't know that. We we're going to skip it this year and just use the AP discount, but now I'm reconsidering.

They don't have to scan the card or anything, so I'm not sure what you mean by having a TIW card "that works." They merely verify that you have a TiW card, it matches your ID and a restaurant manager signs off on the discount. It's not like they run it through the register in the back.
