I puchased the TiW card today (have had it in the past) and valet parked at the Boardwalk to eat at Flying Fish. Valets were lovely as usual and gave us a valet ticket. When we went to collect the car and handed over the valet ticket we were asked for $12 - I showed her our Flying Fish receipt and she said that no longer got free valet. I then asked if those with a handicap badge got it and she said no - but as I went for the the $12 she looked at our keys and saw the valet had circled the handicap symbol so we got it free. So I am now confused as to whether TiW does get valet and whether handicap badge holders do?! We always tip the valet but just want to know in advance if we will be charged.
Many thanks
Wendy

Things might have changed, but we received free valet in December when we used our TIW card at Narcoossee's. It is still listed as a benefit of the card on the passholder website. If you have other meals where you plan to use the card, maybe check with guest services to see what is the current policy.

"Resort valet services are complimentary to members, for the sole purpose of dining. This privilege will only be extended to one vehicle per membership card. Present your membership card with a valid dining receipt at the Valet Stand upon retrieving your vehicle."

Many thanks - I thought I had read that too on the passholder website but was beginning to doubt myself!

I think the valet person was wrong; I have not heard anyone else saying they were told that recently. It's supposed to be free if you dine using your TiW card, although I believe there is a 3 hour time limit.

We received complementary valet parking everywhere we dined using our TIW card.

Did you show them your TIW card along with your receipt? I always let the valets know when I arrive that I am using my TIW card and am dining there. They make note of it on the valet ticket. Never had a problem. Just used it last month at the Boardwalk.

wendym, If you have the time and feel like it would you do us all a favor and email TIW at wdw.tables.in.wonderland@disney.com about this incident to see if the Valet was correct about FF no longer participating in free valet service? I know the Valet is subcontracted now and maybe they just didn't know but I doubt it. It could also be that your card was too new to register if they scanned it. It shouldn't matter if your receipt from FF showed the TIW discount. I'm glad you didn't need to pay but I'm curious what others would have done in this instance. Called FF? I would have been reluctant to pay before I contacted a Disney representative.

We are TIW members and used valet parking at Citrico's last Friday night. It was complimentary.

Thank you so much for all your replies, it helps that I had read things properly and that there does seem to be some miscommunication as I did all the things people suggest above. I will certainly email as I would never cause a fuss, being typically British we would just pay up and moan about it later! I know a lot of Americans find it odd that mum and I have annual passes and TiW but it makes sense for the length of visits we make.
I'll let you know if I get a reply to my email.

Did you explain to the valet cashier that you had TIW? Perhaps she didn't catch that on the receipt and thought you were trying to get free parking just for dining? Some restaurants 'validate' valet parking (I think bluezoo, Shula's and Il Mulino do that) but not the Disney restaurants.

TIW definitely still gets valet parking. I just used the perk a month ago and I'm sure there would be an uproar here on the boards if that perk was no longer offered!

Oh I showed the card and the reciept, I think I even had the envelope for the card out too! I didn't I had missed anything about it being stopped on the boards but I was away on a cruise for a week so could have.

Just thought I would post the reply I received today from Tables In Wonderland - so I wasn't being stupid and the benefit is still there!
Hello! Yes, free valet is still part of the Tables in Wonderland program.

The official verbiage is:

Parking Privileges:

Resort valet services are complimentary to members, for the sole purpose of dining. This privilege will only be extended to one vehicle per membership card. Present your membership card with a valid dining receipt at the Valet Stand upon retrieving your vehicle.

Theme Park parking is complimentary to members, for the sole purpose of dining. Before 5:00pm, please pay for parking at the Toll Plaza. Visit Guest Relations on your way out of the Theme Park, and if it has been less than 3 hours, show your membership card and dining receipt for reimbursement for parking. After 5:00 p.m., members can show their membership card at the toll plaza to enter the parking lot. Theme park admission is required for dining in all Theme Park restaurant locations.

On Holidays listed above, there will be a charge for parking and valet services.

I am sorry to hear that the cast member at the BoardWalk valet did not have the correct information! I am glad that you did not have to pay. If this ever happens again, you can always ask for the cast member’s manager, or if you do happen to pay for the valet, please hang on to your receipts (dining and valet), and send to the Tables in Wonderland office, and we could do the refund for you.

Thank you!

Nicole

Good for you Wendy! Also it's good to see TIW came back with a timely response. Thanks for posting.

This happened to us while staying in may at BWV.
It seemed as though the CM's there were not that knowledgable when it came to TIW. DH actually printed it off the passholder website so that when they tried to argue it, he would refer to the printout :rotfl:
Even if you get coffee on the boardwalk ,it counts towards free valet.

The CM there is wrong.

OP, thanks for the official update! Glad to hear the parking is still included.

Also, I've had it happen at AKL...wasn't worth arguing (more) with the guy. I put it on the room card, and BC concierge desk in main lobby took it off my room bill right away after I showed TIW and receipt from Jiko.

It should be noted that in the response from TIW, they refer to the "cast member" at Boardwalk valet.

I believe that valet parking is outsourced, and these folks are not Disney employees...
