Tables in the Studio Refurbs

Should the Studio refurbishments continue to have a working table with 2 chairs?

I would take more trips with lesser accommodations. So long as those lesser accommodations are conducive to my needs, and according to the poll results thus far, I am not alone. I'm not going to 2 trips per year when I can comfortably do 5 with my points in a studio.
For the first 15 years of membership, we stayed in studios ( but it was just two people). with this reasoning. 300 points don’t go that far and we used do the buy AP, take three trips in 12 months plan.

Last few years we have moved into a one bedroom. Not doing multiple trips a year anymore.

Yes to this. Now I'm leaning towards staying offsite for a longer stay during the snow months. That's probaby because we are up to our ears in snow right now. I won't care as much when the snow melts.

Other factor is the one bedroom would be so much easier to book!

How heavy is the coffee table? Is there room to scoot it over by the bench in front of the real bed as and use it there? I agree, I would not like not having at least a small usable height table or desk. Even a small folding table that fits in a closet would do in a pinch. I also travel with a laptop. And while I don't stay in a studio often, there have been times there were 3 of us in a studio at OKW.

I'm glad OKW still has a table with two chairs. And they will likely continue to have them as long as they don't change away from the two real queen size beds.

I'm not sure how my daughter sleeps on the Murphy while I work. Further, most times when I am working, they are still asleep.

Not a suitable substitute. At all. Maybe, MAYBE for a couple. But for 3 or more, no way.
It's just me and my wife most trips, it's not a suitable substitute.

I had better accommodations at the $100 a night Comfort Inn room on the way down than I did at BWV last week. I've been reduced to working/eating on a owners locker lid sitting in bed which is slightly better on my back than the trash coffee table set up.

Oh good. We should immediately convert all the studios to 1 BRs because obviously nobody needs them anymore. LOL

And that's great for you. And we have stayed in 1 BRs plenty of times and made our decision just like you did. We decided we'd rather go more often w/o buying more points.

The whole point is that my wife is (more than likely) still asleep in the bed.

Most of them aren't that heavy is my finding. But they're not high enough to be practical sitting on a bed either.

Maybe there should be an option "I don't book studios".
I also find maddening that they have removed the tables. I can manage with the coffee table when I travel alone, but it will be a big inconvenience when I'll travel with 2 guests this September.

I definitely want a desk and chair to work/play all the time. It is so annoying now that even some of the 1 bedrooms don't have a desk area in the bedroom. After a tub, the desk is my number 2 priority.
I was somewhat surprised to find a desk in the Kidani one bedroom. OKW has never had a desk in the one or two bedrooms, but the kitchen table was always good instead, as well as the patio table on a nice day.

I am sure that is on it's way out as well. They just did it at BLT

I have to wonder WHY they are removing them? I mean, while they've been reupholstered and repainted, we have the same tables and chairs at OKW that the resort had when it opened, even the coffee tables.

I'm not sure but they also have been removing my DS favorite feature of the 1 Bedrooms with all of the refurbs.

Watching TV from the bathtub :)

In 2019, I was able to grab 3 AKV value studios for Thanksgiving. Two of them were savanna view, and one was parking lot view. I was traveling with my DH, two DSs, and their DGFs at the time. Since the trip was booked on our points, I told DH I needed to check out both savanna-view rooms to see which one I wanted for us. I figured I would take the one with the best savanna view. I checked out one, and when I went into the other studio, the first thing I noticed was no table. I didn't even bother walking out onto the balcony to check out the view. I turned around and walked out and said, "I want the first room. It has a table and chairs!"

Currently, we travel only to HHI. I'm not sure if they got rid of the table in the studios since last year's refurb. We usually stay in 1-BRs, but last year we stayed in a 2 BR. I want a table to eat at, and with the 1- and 2-BR, that's not an issue. But there are desks in the bedrooms with an ottoman seat. This year, we will be in a 2-BR with family for a few days and then DH and I will be in a studio for 2 nights (to save points). Hoping there is a table and chairs in there!

Yes unfortunately they did. Luckily for us we had one of the studios with the large balconies that had a table and it was during the summer.
Oh no! It's going to hard enough to move from a 2-BR to a studio and now no table!!! Don't all of the studios have a table on the balcony? We use the balcony table a lot, especially for our coffee and breakfast, but it's nice to have a table in the room for mid-day when it's hot and/or days when it's raining. Just crazy that studios have a kitchenette but no table where you can sit to eat!

Yes they all have a table on the balcony. I’m just not sure if they all have the table that seats 4 outside
