Tables for 8???

This may be a weird question, but what in-park restaurants do you think you have the best chance for getting a table of 8? I know a lot of places they put you at two tables, or at least say you may be at two tables even when you call 180 days out. I will be going the end of May to Disney and I think we will have 8 guests. I wanted to try to get reservations for 8 and be seated at one table obviously, so I wanted to know either places that easily accomodate 8 or places that definately dont accomodate 8. For instance, I know Tepan Edo would be easy for a party of 8 cause you can all take 1 table. But it seems at Le Cellier, there are no tables for 8 and would be almost impossible to sit together. I will be calling 180 +10 as we are all staying at the BWV, but even when doing so in the past I still dont get us all at 1 table when travelling with a large party. If you have any experience with this, I would appreciate the help!

PS - I know about grand gatherings, but it seems they usually try to get you to eat either really early or really late which I was hoping to avoid. Although I think we may try one of the grand gathering special experiences.

We had one at 9 Dragons in China in Epcot, also we were able to get our party of 8 in one booth at Coral Reef in Epcot.

Teppan Edo in Epcot may be another option. I can't remember if the tables are sets of 6 or 8. I'm pretty sure it's 8.

We are going to Disney over spring break and we are a party of 8. I made adrs for Chef Mickey, Ashkersus, Le Cellier, Crytal Palace and Sci-Fi. The only restaurant where the CM said we wouldn't be able to sit together is Sci-Fi.

If you call at the 180+10, I think you will be okay. But this is my first time traveling in a party of 8. Good Luck.

Thanks for the help so far.

Brat5063, hopefully I will be as lucky as you and get 1 table most places. Did you make ADRs for peak times or were they more fir off times? I wouldn't mind the odd split up but I have Tables in Wonderland and some of the guests this will be there first trip, so I would like to be a full party of 8 as much as possible.

Wild4Walt, thats great you fit into one booth at Coral Reef. That is one place we wanted ton eat and I thought that would be a tough one. Good to know it might be possible.

Sci - Fi is at 11:45 for lunch. All the other meals are dinner. I asked for 5:00 and they are all between 5 and 5:30. I am not sure when the dinner rush starts. We are going during spring break and I made adrs the day they switched to 180, so I was calling with lots of other people and was still able to get tables of 8. I didn't get through till around 11 that day.

We were in the World end of Sept, with a party of 8 for each ressie, and we always got one table, except at Cape May at the Beach club. I made my ressies 90 days out.

We got one table at:

Crystal Palace (round table)
Teppan Edo (you're right, it does seat 8, so it's nice to have the whole thing to yourself)
1900 Park Fare
Boma
Tusker House
Raglan Road
Chef Mickey (round table)

At Cape May, we had two tables, 4 seating at each, but they were right next to each other, just enough room to get in and out of the seats, so we didn't mind.

I think they do their best to get you together, they just have that disclaimer to cover their you know what, just in case.

Good Luck!

Brat5063 - Thanks for the response. I am usually shooting for 6:30-8pm it seems, so maybe that's where I get tripped up. Maybe I will look into a little earlier times.

Betzee - That's great you were able to get tables of 8 at all those places...really eases my mind a little bit. I must have just gotten a little unlucky in the past. Hopefully with the switch back to 180+10, there will be less people competing for those tables and I'll have better luck.

Thanks for the replies!

We were able to get table for 8 at the following last Dec:

50's Prime Time
Tutto Italia
Crystal Palace
Tony's Town Tavern
Le Cellier
Teppan Edo

In resorts:

Boma
Cape May
California Grill
Chef Mickeys
Ohana
Whispering Canyon

The only place I was told we would have to sit at 2 tables was Cape May and I kept calling back until I got all at one table. I did make all my ADRs at 180 +10 and was able to get most approximately 30 mins +/- when I wanted. Hope it helps.
