In anticipation of making my ADRs for an upcoming summer trip, I was thumbing through a book at the book store this weekend that rated some of the better TS for kids. I didn't want to pay the $20 for the book so I committed them to memory. But it didn't take. :headache:

So for a DD9 princess: and a very active and fairly impatient DS 4 :hyper: , what are some non Character Dining TS Restaurants that you would suggest?

Also, my DW will be having a birthday while we are there, what's a good TS for the 4 of us to celebrate?

If you don't mind not eating in one of the parks, I would suggest heading over to the Wilderness Lodge for dinner. The Whispering Canyon
Cafe there is fantastic!! Little kids (big ones too, and adults) have a blast there.

They have pony-stick races on the hour...each kid gets to gallop around the dining room.

The wait-staff likes to have fun with the guests.

If you do a search...you'll find some of the past threads about the antics at WCC.

Oh...be sure to have one of the kids ask for ketchup!!

I'm going to ditto WCC! It was fun just to watch everything going on and laugh along with the other tables.

Our 2 and 4 year old boys also really enjoyed Coral Reef for dinner. It's kind of dark which seemed to calm them and they were fascinated by the huge aquarium. I'd do dinner there though and not lunch. I've noticed the dinner gets better reviews than the lunch. :thumbsup2

Searched both WCC and Coral Reef and they both look like excellent choices. Thanks!

How about something for Dinner in the AK and MGM areas? Is Boma OK?

Have you checked out the menus at www.allearsnet.com?

I love making choices based on what my kids like, however, often the heat etc get to them, and they dont eat anyway!! So I've since made choices based on "down time" for the kids - hence I love LeCellier in Epcot, its a 'cellar' type restaurant in Canada, a/c and low lighting - dd and I get a great meal, the kids Ihave taken stuff for them to play with, and its all good!!

For MGM, imho nothing there but the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg - so we do the Buffet at Hollywood and Vine - the kids love the dessert buffet -

AKL - you may have to pay for the kids to eat at Boma Buffet, sot i would check the menus first -

The other Buffet meal our dd loves is 1900 Park Fair at Grand Floridian, it has the mice Perla and Suzy, Prince Charming and Cinderella, and the food, we like!! So the kids are entertained, and the adults feel as if they had plenty of time to eat!!

Coral Reef...the fish keep the kids occupied....ask for a tank side table!

San Angel Inn in Mexico....ask for a table near the river....the passing boats should keep the kids occupied, along with the scenery!

50's Prime Time...geared toward family sit down dinner, and the waitress/waiter will keep them busy and quite!

Whispering Canyon Cafe - the wait staff gets involved with the guests....a fun time!

Biergarten - the entertainment usually keeps the kids entertained.

SciFi Dine In - setting is a drive-in movie theatre - although make sure you request a "parked car"

50's Prime Time in MGM is a must-do for our family every trip. :)

Lots of the table services that may interest young children are character meals but you are looking for non Character TS Meals. Many of these have been mentioned, but I'll mention them too just to provide a level of agreement we have on the ones mentioned.

- Kona Cafe (PR) - good menu but great desserts
- The Plaza (MK) - hamburgers with great shakes
- Boma (AKL) buffet
- Coral Reef (Epcot) table of four - chance to get a window seat
- San Angel Inn (Epcot-Mexico) scenery but young ones might even 'pass out' due to the dark setting
-Whispering Canyon Cafe (WL) entertaining for children
- Ohana's (PR) entertainment for children
- SciFi Diner (MGM) cars, shake, burgers, movie screen ...like a drive in
- Mama Melrose (MGM) pasta/pizza
- L'Originale Alfredo di Roma (Epcot Italy)
- Chefs de France (Epcot France) prefer Lunch

SIDE ITEM - Station Cool (Epcot) not food but free (sm) drinks of sodas from around the world

Whispering Canyon Cafe gets my vote here, as would Kona or even Marrakesh.
