Table service recommendations?

Looking to do 3 or 4 table service meals. I have booked Blue Bayou fantasmic package. Can you provide feedback what other table services are good? Looking to do one character meal (non princess)

Off the reservation: Adventuresome types might like Melting Pot or Yard House.

For my family, we like Big Thunder BBQ (all you care to eat BBQ), Cafe Orleans (New Orleans-inspired foods, similar to Blue Bayou, but different), Carnation Cafe (good, basic fare), Carthay Circle (slightly more upscale dining), House of Blues, PCH Grill (dinner is a buffet), Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (especially the brunch on Sundays), Rainforest Cafe, Storytellers (lunch).

There aren't a lot of character meals at DLR and most all are breakfast.

• Plaza Inn (breakfast) (DL) - Minnie and friends. This is one of the most random assortment of characters that I've seen (I saw Minnie, the Fairy Godmother, Max, Rafiki, Tigger and Eeyore one time).
• Ariel's Grotto (breakfast and lunch) - Princesses (e.g., Ariel, Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, etc.)
• Storytellers (breakfast) (GCH) - Woodland animals (I've seen Chip, Dale, Koda, Kenai, and Meeko).
• Goofy's Kitchen (all meals) - Goofy and friends
• PCH Grill (breakfast) - Mickey and friends (I saw Pluto, Minnie, Daisy, and Stitch).

I like the Carnation Cafe for lunch or even dinner. It has good food and it's fun to people-watch Main Street.

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ and Café Orleans are two we're hoping to try this upcoming trip.

I personally didn't think Carthay Circle or Blue Bayou were worth the money, but I know others love it- check the menu's and see what you like! Allears.net

I definitely agree with Big Thunder BBQ, although it's going away next year Blue Bayou is just too pricey for a family of 5 so we don't do that one. In fact, we don't do many table service places. If we're spending crazy money that BB requires, we'll do a character meal and make it worth it. I've done Carnation Cafe, which had a great meat loaf and milk shake. As for character meals, Goofy's has a very tasty brunch, though I wasn't impressed with character interaction. Mickey's Surf's Up breakfast had really good characters and a pretty normal breakfast selection. Ariel's - chaching!!! - is great for your girls to meet with princesses and the food is really good as well. But the line to get in is long, even with reservations, and the price is pretty high as well.

We ate at the Plaza Inn and Cafe Orleans on our last trip. Both were great! The Plaza has delicious chicken, and of course, Cafe Orleans has the Monte Cristo and Mickey beignets.

I also really like the Plaza Inn's fried chicken (lunch and dinner), but just to note, the Plaza Inn is a counter service location at lunch and dinner.

Goofy's Kitchen (in my opinion) is the best character meal for food and price.

The pumpkin beignets, and the regular beignets, at Café Orleans are exceptionally good. Also the pommes frites there are a must order as well.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Carnation Station for Breakfast. In fact, my Husband requires we eat there at least 3 mornings of a 7 day trip. There food quality is good and prices are not that high considering you are in Disneyland. BB for fantasmic will be wonderful (a new found favorite for us). I didn't think I would like the Jazz Kitchen but it was really good last December when we were there the although it's really loud and the prices are a bit steep - but the portions are really big so two people could easily share.

Cafe Orleans is a must-do on each trip for my family. I could live off the pomme frites and beignets alone so I'm with tarheelalum.

Someone mentioned the Plaza Inn. It's not "table service," but they have real plates and silverware here and the food is plentiful. There is also nice seating. So it's like a quick "table service" where the food is less expensive and you don't have to leave a tip. One of our favorite places to eat at Disneyland is Rancho Zocalo. It serves Mexican food. Like the Plaza Inn it is not really table service but has real dishes and nice seating with large portions of food. If you eat there when it's darker they have beautiful lanterns that light up the area. The nice thing about these two places, besides the money you'll save, is that you don't need a reservation so you can be very flexible.

I really wanted to try Café Orleans on our last trip, but we didn't. I hope to next time. I want a Monte Cristo and some pomme frites. It's just a bit pricey for dining with my kiddos.
