Hi everyone! Does any one know if you can use your table service credits to get to go-meals? We will end up with 3 table service credits and no time to use them? Is it possible to get the meals to-go? Thanks for any advice or info you may have!
The general answer is "no". The restaurants aren't equipped to handle "to go", and if they let one or two people do it, then word gets out, and... you get the point.
In July 2008 I was able to convert a child's table service credit to a child's counter service credit at Wolfgang Puck's Express. We had eaten an early breakfast at O Hana's earlier in the week and my younger son was so tired he just slept in the stroller the whole time so the waitress didn't charge us for his meal, leaving us with an extra credit. I wondered about asking our resort (Saratoga Springs) if I could get a take out lunch there since I figured that would be a slow time for resort table service but I never got around to it.
yes...you can ask them to put it in a carry out.we did this before when we had a kid not feeling well and they had no problem doing it.We just took it back to the room and ate...
Your best strategy is to make one of those other meals 2TS to use up those credits (room service is 2TS credits). It is unusual to get TS to go so I would not budget using them that way. There are some wonderful 2TS options dinner shows, dining in the Castle or Signature meals.
Beside the time issue I mentioned in my first post, I alos need to-go because of health reasons. I had gastric by-pass and can not/ do not eat much at a time. Standard serving sizes are way too much for me at one sitting and I ususally divide it into two meals. Do you think I should mention that when I make my ADR's? I guess it could not hurt. I would not get the plan if it was just for me but I have to consider my companions.

You are allowed to order a child's meal. Many of the TS restaurant offer steak, pasta a pretty good choices. That way you really aren't eating a larger portion than really want as you are not tempted by the leftovers.
I have a handicapped brother who needed to eat in one night at OKW. I had to really beg them to let me have a to go meal. They said he could eat there and take his left overs out but that wasn't going to work. They finally gave us the meal but it was a real headache. I couldn't find any place to let us have carry out except the CS meal places. Good luck with your needs.

There is a very big difference between taking 'home' your leftovers, and ordering a meal or meals to go.
As stated above, Disney's table service restaurants are not equipped or staffed to handle take-out orders. Mentioning bariatric surgery when making dining reservations will have no effect on any/all restaurants' policies.
While it is commendable that you wish to take your companions into consideration, it is not unreasonable for them to do the same for you. It may well be more cost-effective overall for you all NOT to get any dining plan, and to instead pay for your food as you order.
Thanks for the suggestion of the 2 credit table service meals. I think we will do that to use the extra credits.
As for the sother issue, I am sure you know it is an all or nothing thing with the dining plan. So in order for my friends to enjoy the savings I will just have to lose. I can not purchase the plan at the childs rate and they can't purchase it with out me. I can't eat the amount of food at one sitting, I eat several small meals a day. So I will eat a meal and end up throwing away food and then several hours later need to eat again. I guess i will just take some protien powder and make due with that. lol...I wish I could just have the old stomach back for disney and then get the new one back when I get home.
I would work out a deal with my friends, they can get something extra from your TS meal you get to use an extra CS credit or snack at some point. Snacks can be a robust as a Turkey leg (I think) or as simple as a piece of fresh fruit. You can probably get a few items from the resort Grab and Go section that make up a CS meal and have those with you or tucked in the room for one of those small meals.
My mother absolutely over used snack credits on our trip and it was fine. She had a great time and we often shared whatever it was she grabbed. I tasted lots of yummy things at WDW thanks to Mom.
