Table service kid's meal question

This should be an easy one to answer and has probably been asked many times before.

My 11 year old DS is still a chicken nugget and hot dog eater. Disney keeps track of the ages of the kids with both accomodation and dining reservations, and I have been honest regarding his age with the reservations and the advanced purchase park tickets. On the reservations for dining they know he is 11 and considered an adult.

How will the table service restaurants respond (we will be OOP and not on any dining plan) if we ask for a child's menu for our 11 year old who has an 8 - 10 year old appetite?

BTW I am planning on paying the adult rate for him for character and buffet meals. This question is just regarding table service with individual meal menus.

It seems from other posts, that your experience may vary from restaurant to restaurant, server to server. Technically, he has to be charged an adult price, which means ordering off the adult menu, but many have posted that their small/light eater/picky eater 10+ children have been offered and allowed to order from the kids' menu. All you can do is ask. Good luck and enjoy!

We always ask, since my 13 DS can't eat too much and always wants to order of the kids menu. We've never been turned down. We're OOP too.

On Christmas Day in Le Cellier my youngest DD, who is 12, ordered off the childrens' menu without any problem. We were not charged any extra either.

my 12 yr old twins who are 5"7 and 5"8 ate off the childrens menus a couple of time on our trip 15th -22nd of this year. i explained that they we pickey and not to hungry and it was not a problem. they ate off childs menu at cindarellas table, concourse steak house.
