Table Manners!

So I was at Chipotle today with my two older girls. A woman - a STUNNING woman who could easily be a lingerie model - walks in. She was one of those people who is just so incredibly attractive everyone notices. Anyway, the Heidi Klum lookalike with brown hair sits across from me. My girls and I are chatting and so for awhile I am only looking at my own table. After a minute or two I look up to see the most awful display of full-of-food-open-mouth I have ever seen. She begins speaking to someone while eating all the while spitting food EVERYWHERE (including on herself.) I looked around the restaurant and just about anyone who could see her face had the same look as me ! You could actually hear her eating in the loud and crowded restaurant. It was honestly unbelievable! Now, I've noticed people chewing with their mouths open before but never like this. In some ways it gave me a slight margin of satisfaction - she may be pretty, but really, who's dating her?

Anyway, has anyone ever seen someone behaving in public in a way that just makes you scratch your head?

I dated a guy for a couple dates.. but when we went to eat.. it was a total
"No Go".. He shoveled the food into his mouth, didn't chew with his mouth closed and I swear his food was gone in 2.5 minutes. He was hot... until he ate

I have a friend who is the most atrocious eater I've ever seen -- even worse than a toddler! The first time I ever ate with her was at a Japanese restaurant and she was shoveling the fried rice into her mouth, and most of it was dropping back out into the plate.

I told my husband about it. He's the type to get really grossed out by things like that. I keep threatening to demonstrate it, but then he asks if I want a divorce, so I behave myself.

The neighbor boy ate dinner with us last night and farted at the table. I thought my husband was going to puke.

My friends mom hums, and makes this god awful sound while eating.. honestly I try to avoid her at all parties when she is eating. I can't take it.. its rather disgusting

My father in law has such terrible table habits that it actually makes me ill to have to watch him eat. My husband had never noticed (we are not young) but once I pointed it out to him, he was aghast. Now my husband bites the bullet and sits in the line of fire in order to protect me. Thank goodness my husband doesn't mind that I spend very little time with his family and I am spared.

My inlaws. They talk with their mouths full of food. It's like as soon as they take a bite they start talking. It really grosses me out. My MIL is the worst - talking and spitting food everywhere. I try not to sit by her. The rest of the family is just as bad but don't spit as much. I spend a lot of time staring at my plate since watching them talk ruins my appetite. Funny to see this thread since I just had this conversation with hubby on Thanksgiving -- how it bothers me the way they eat.

Anyone ever seen the Saturday night live skit with Elle McPherson and Jim Bruer? He's all excited to take such a beautiful woman on a date come to find out her table manners are atrocious. It's pretty funny.

I am OCD when it comes to table manners. So seeing someone eat with their mouths open or even hearing them eat just drives me nuts. I think everyone should watch a video of themselves eating, just once. I think they'd be shocked at what they see.

My other eating pet peeve is those people that stab their hunk 'o meat with their fork and chew off the hunk while it's up in the air. Ugh!

Table manners or should I say lack of table manners really irks me. They make me ill as well. I can not eat if I see someone with a mouth full of food talking. Makes me sick to my stomach.

I have an friend that asks me to go to lunch with them at least twice a month, I can only force myself once. That lunch lasts me until I can gather courage to go again. The problem is not that he eats with his mouth open, no that would probably be enough but he has a beard, so food drips and drops, and stays in eye level. Then there is food on all the little hairs around his mouth..like mustard. Yeah..totally disgusting for me. Makes me sick just thinking about it.

But he really is a nice guy. If we went bowling or did something different than eating, life would be good!

I'm still trying to figure out how a lingerie-model-type person manages to eat at Chipolte. Isn't there like 2 million calories in everything? Maybe she starves herself in order to be able to eat there....thus the literal "pigging out."

And I'm jealous that you HAVE a Chipolte....we don't and I LOVE that place

That just totally turned my stomach! I have a very weak stomach! LOL. I grew up in a household that if my mother could even hear the chewing w your mouth closed she would just get up and leave the table-no words; just up and she was done. I have to say I have the same zero tolerance for any of that nonsense; and even my 3 year old knows better! There is nothing more important than manners period-it's what seperates us from the animals!

It seems that I have seen SO MANY attractive people eat like crazy monsters.
Not sure why?? Maybe they just have no self confidence issues, so they just go at it like wild monkey's at a bananna farm. (???)

Good one! My DH has a male Cousin that literally shovels food in his mouth NON-STOP for about 2 min straight! And he talks thru it all.....
