So how likely am I to be able to walk up without reservations and get a table or seat at the bar for dinner? Looking for a nice meal Friday night.

Often times when traveling I can get a table simply because there is a no show and the restaurant wants to turn the table fast for the next reservation so I just tell the hostess to let the server know the timetable when the she needs the table again for the next reservation.

Making a trip June 17-19 to WDW on short notice to visit my son who is interning as a CM/lifeguard this summer. Staying at the All Star Sports hotel. Main goal of the trip is to spend time with him but a little fun for me when he is working would be good too.

I don't know yet, but I'll be working on finding out in around 2-3 weeks when I'm there. ;-)

These are the restaurants that I've heard on various podcasts are good ones for walk-up:

Yak & Yeti bar AK
Tusker House buffet AK
50's Prime Time bar DHS
Mama Melrose walk-in DHS
Brown Derby walk-in DHS
Marrakesh walk-in EC
Biergarten walk-in EC
Teppan Edo walk-in EC
The Wave bar Contemporary
Jiko bar/"where they are doing the cooking" Animal Kingdom Lodge
Olivia's walk-in Old Key West
Kona Café sushi bar Poly
Kimonos sushi bar Swan
Garden Grove walk-in, lunch only Swan

As a solo, I've gotten a table at many resturaunts, even during free dining and when the resturant in question was advertising that they were not accepting ADRs because they were full. The only thing is that these were always at lunchtime.
Besides some of the ones on the post above, I've gotten a table at Liberty Tree Tavern, Rose and Crown, and Chefs de France.

i got a table at san angel inn last week no adr 10 min wait late dinner

Saturday Evening I got a table for two at La Hacienda de San Angel as a walk up party around 6:15 p.m. with no wait. . .on a Saturday night. . .lol. The park was crowded. . .dinner was awesome, company was great. nice.

During my May trip I had made ADRs at Coral Reef and Fulton's Crab House and then ended up canceling them because I wasn't where I needed to be to make the reservations. I was able to walk into both restaurants and be seated within 10 minutes. Coral Reef for lunch and Fultons for dinner. Fultons was the less crowded of the two, also the least impressive where the food was concerned. I also ate at the Mexican restaurant on the lake across from the Hacienda (wouldn't recommend). My favorite meal was in MK at Columbia Harbour House. The fried shrimp basket was great!!

From my experience Fultons never needs a ressie. They can get busy but they will seat parties of less than four within 10 minutes on a walk up. . .even if they say the wait time is 20 minutes or more. Coral Reef is easy at lunch but more difficult at dinner for a walk up. Columbia Harbour House is my least favorite restaurant on Disney Property. The La Hacienda de San Angel restaurant has great food, but a very limited menu. Was able to get a walk up ressie for 2 on Saturday night at a very crowded park. Food was excellent. I had the shrimp tacos and my date had the steak. He said his was awesome and I can tell you my tacos were excellent.

That's what makes the world go round - different people have different tastes....

The one I ate at was the La Cantina de San Angel. Only had the nachos and did not like the way the beef was seasoned, that was my personal opinion and the next person may like them just fine. Still stand by the fried shrimp basket at CHH, probably my favorite other than Earl of Sandwich. I don't go overboard on meals at Disney because I make solo trips and I'm only able to eat a little bit at a time so going to one of the finer dining experiences would just mean throwing my money away. May have to give those shrimp tacos a try, though. That is why I went to CR and Fultons - I've been on a mission to find the best fish tacos. At CR the fish tostada was a beautifully presented plate, but the cilantro really overwhelmed the dish and the fish couldn't even be tasted. At Fultons, the mahi-mahi was cooked to perfection, but they gave two tacos on the plate and each one had one small piece of fish that didn't even reach from the edge to the center of the taco. I ended up putting both pieces on one and eating only one. So far, Coast Bar & Grill in Charleston, SC is the hands-down winner for fish tacos.
