Table for 2, Citricos Chef's Domain or Victoria and Albert's Chef's table

Trying to decide between Citricos Chef's Domain and (attempting) Victoria and Albert's Chef's table.

I understand that there is an $850 minimum +tax and tip for Citricos Chef's Domain but that will still be about the same price as 2 people at the chef's table when we include non-caviar non-truffle supplement(s), water off the "water menu" and coffee/tea and 2 Sommelier's Reserve Wine pairings.

I've done both the main dining room and QVR at Victoria and Albert's but am unsure if I want to bother trying the Chef's Table or seeing what kind of meal can be created for 2 of us at Citricos (given $425/pp minimum) in a place (and restaurant) we've both never been to before.

Has anyone experienced the Chef's Domain, especially with a smaller party <4?

Sorry, haven't tried it but my 2 cents. I have two brother's who are chefs, another who was a line cook and my grandmother owned a restaurant so I was sort of raised in the business. As family I had to eat in the kitchen, no choice. I wouldn't pay extra to eat in the kitchen with all the noise and hub bub that goes on in one no matter what the chef prepared. I would go for QVR at V&A's and get almost the same experience food wise.

Not that $50 will make or break the bank at that high of a price.. but I think the minimum is $800 unless it went up in the last month. I'm looking at possibly doing the Citricos Chef's Domain for my rehearsal dinner.

That's my concern as well, my first few jobs were in a professional kitchen and I'm worried it might not be that amazing of an experience it also looked like it was at the back of the kitchen so it didn't seem like there was a ton going on when we took a tour of the kitchen and saw the chef's table. The room itself looks kind of kitchy in comparison to the other two.

You're right, it's $800. I called last night for more info and it's not clear if that includes tax and tip/service charges, full payment due at time of booking, two seatings 5:30 and 8:30, and can in theory be booked further out than the 180+10 apparently as long as you're ready to drop the $800.

The two seatings aspect kind of sucks as I was hoping to have a tasting menu in similar length to Victoria and Albert's 10 course or more if they could do it but I don't think that's possible in three hours.
