I was told that none of the tables in the dinning room were set up to handle 12. Is that true? Do you think we can work it out so we can all sit together?

I have been on the Disney Cruises where there were big parties at the dining rooms. Just let DCL know what staterooms # your party is in and they will accomodate you. What they do is they will put a couple of tables together and have it ready.

I know that there was a group in late dining that we saw while passing Lumiere's that had at least 20 people in it. Their table was along the window in the hall & was very long. It may depend on how far in advance you have booked if it is still possible, but it can be done.

On one cruise we had a party of 13. The servers just pushed together 2 tables each night. Make sure all your ressies are linked together to get the table assignements next to each other.
We only booked the trip about 8 weeks out.

We had 11 family members on our first cruise. I told our TA to make a note in the reservations that we all wanted to sit together. The first night we went to the dining room we weren't at the same table. Once our servers found out that we were all together they pushed tables together to make one big one for all of us. On the following nights our big table was ready and waiting for us.

Our next cruise, we'll have 12 people in our party. I've requested that we all sit together again. Hopefully it will work out like last time.

On our first cruise we had a group of 18 and we were at 2 tables set up next to each other.

On this most recent cruise we had a total of 11 of us and we were at one long table ... no problem at all. Just be sure your ressies are linked and if the set-up isn't to your liking when you first get to the dining rooms let the head waiter know ... they work hard to make everyone happy.

On our cruise last February, we ate dinner every night with a group of fellow DISers. There were 12 of us and we linked our reservations together so we could sit together. We had a table for 12 which was located pretty much in the middle of each restaurant. We enjoyed eating together very much and loved the location of our table. Eating dinner each night with a group of people we met on the DIS boards was one of the highlights of our cruise!

On our cruise in Nov. 02 we had a very large party and requested to sit together. We even just wanted to have a tables next to each other, that would have been fine. But, our 1st night we were on one side of the DR and the rest of our party was on the other side of the DR. We told them of our request and they said they were "working on it and would do what they could". They said that all 4 days and they never changed it. So, I wouldn't hold my breath. We are booked for Dec. 5, 04 with another large party... we'll see!

Did you only ask to sit near each other or were your reservations linkied together? The key is to link your reservations together before you check in so they have time to set up the seating correctly. Just call your TA or DCL to link all the reservations together for the requested seating.
