We have an Amish oak dining room table set, spent about $3500 on it 3 years ago. On one of the edges its developed a split in the wood... What should I expect from the store that I bought it from???

My guess is that 3 years after the purchase, the store is going to refer you to the manufacturer.

That's what you get for buying Amish. They're known for their shoddy craftsmanship. ;)

I would expect the store to have someone come out and look at the crack and repair it. After 3 years, you will probably have to pay for the repair. Depending on the size of the crack, with a good furniture restorer, you may not even be able to tell that there was a crack.

After a move we found a crack had formed in one of the cherry dressers. I called a place called Furniture Medic and the guy came out and fixed the crack along with a few chips here and there on other peices. You wouldn't believe how great they turned out!!
It is amazing what a good furniture repair person can do!

I would expect the store to give you the name and number of either the manufacturer or a furniture repair person or both, but do nothing further for you after that length of time. Good luck!
