TA Calendar says BB is open 12-29 & 30-17...mistake?

The "plus option" on a hopper is less attractive over the holidays for us, as it is really just one water park and, maybe a couple of rounds of mini-golf.
Last year--I think--the water parks switched openings on Christmas. This year, I have read it is early January.
BUT the TA calendar has both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach open on December 29-30. Is this an error?
I was thinking about extending our trip a day. If we could go to BB, it would really make the option "worth" it.
I understand that one trip to a water park or two golfing trips "pays" for it...but I am thinking about upgrading to APs, and using one option forces the more expensive pass. So, it does up the cost...first world problems, I know.

The December TA calendar hasn't been updated since September. I wouldn't upgrade the ticket until you absolutely know if it will be open or not. You can always upgrade it when you get there.

Unless you want access to the water parks for the duration of your AP's, I wouldn't add them to your current tickets.

the TA calendar has changed since i first saw it a couple of months ago, and it now says both water parks are open on 12-29 and 30. In the past, I have found it to show changes before the website. My kids have wanted to do the water parks, and we just have never spent the money. (for almost 20 years, we have had BG Plat. passes, so we just went to Aquatica in recent years.)
If we could do both parks, I'd probably just do it. And not do APs. I have been hesitant about spending the extra money, anyway...SOOO, if we are going to do the waterparks, I want to plan out our days before our fastpass window opens in a couple of days.

If you find when you are there that the weather and your mood are both conducive, you can buy a one-day WP ticket.
That won't affect your AP upgrade.

The December TA calendar hasn't been updated in almost a month. You have two sites, with conflicting information. I think your best bet is to do a "Plan A" and "Plan B". Will you have park tickets to cover 12/29 and 12/30 if BB is in fact closed? If so, I would simply book FP+ for those days and then if and when you find out BB is open, simply upgrade your ticket and go to the water parks instead.
