Just the two of us this trip so it’s going to feel very different.
We had a late night last night. It takes far longer to get things sorted when the kids aren’t coming than it does when they are, go figure?
We were up early but left later than we intended at 7.00. We were lucky with the traffic thou as all the hold ups were in the opposite direction and we arrived at Gatwick by 8.15. We were met by Maple Manor Parking who quickly took us through the paperwork and waved us on our way. We had done online check in so we only had to join the bag drop queue which made the whole thing so much quicker.
We went straight through security and off for breakfast at Garfunkels, Danish and Coffee for me and croissant and Tea for Theresa.
I had a go in the massage chairs and they really did a good job of ironing out the knots in my back.
Our flight VS027 on board Barbarella took off half an hour late but we made that time up, and some, in the air. The food was pretty good and we were chuffed about the mini pot of Chocolate GU.
The lady sitting next to us in our row of three was a Disney Nut, She doesn’t have a top without Mickey on it!
We gave her the web address for the Dis, ( she’s not back for another couple of weeks so she may start posting then.). I watched three movies but the flight still seemed to take forever as I made the stupid mistake of watching the map as the plane crawled across it.
Immigration was the usual slow process and we didn’t clear the airport until 5.00.
We had a Chrysler PT Cruiser which had plenty of room for the two of us.
Checked into the Marriott Courtyard Palm Parkway at 5.45 ( Wayneg, it is a great hotel, really great location and good value for money, cheers).
We were on the third floor with a balcony and a lovely view over the pool area.
We were going to have a mini meet at the Rainforest but Jockey sent me a text saying she couldn't make it so we had to call it off. We went to the IHOP just around the corner from the hotel on the 535, I had to have our favourite pudding, The banana caramel cheesecake, after the Philly cheesesteak sandwich of course.
This was yummy as usual and the bill came to $25 + tip.
We finished the day off with a quick trip around Wal Mart, just to get us in the shopping mood.
