The Crew
Tony ……………….Driver and general gofer
Theresa…………….Scrapbook shopper extraordinaire
Peggy (my mum)…..I’ll go on anything as long as it’s not upside down or has big drops .
Zena (my aunt)…….Ditto
Our last whole day!
We spent the morning at IOA. Most of the people seemed to be heading for Universal as it was the official opening of The Simpson’s Ride today. We made a reservation for lunch at Mythos as we walked through City Walk. Spidey was a walk on.
The ladies declared it as not being as good as the Simpson’s so a very good reference for the Simpson’s there. Personally I still love Spidey best. We did all the kiddie rides in Seuss Landing, and Poseidon’s fury, which we haven’t done since the first year it opened.
All this before our 12.00 appointment at Mythos. Well I was hoping we had left the best to last, after all the other disappointing meals so far this holiday. I was really hoping Mythos would save the day.
We started with the mushroom soup accompanied by the rosemary and potato bread. So far so good.
For mains Theresa had the risotto with spinach and parmesan, I had the fillet mignon and Mum and Zena both had the Pork Chop again. Thankfully it was all cooked to perfection. Thank you, Mythos you are Number One in our books.
Theresa had a Raspberry Cheesecake ‘Shot’ for dessert ( served in a shot glass) and Zena had a Rice Crispy Sushi off of the children’s menu as she had seen one go past and quite liked the look of it.
We left the park after walking around the various lands as we weren’t going on any of the wet rides or roller coasters. We passed the construction work for the new Harry Potter section.
It was a good job we left when we did as the park was the busiest we have ever seen it, it was absolutely full of school parties. I think a lot of them must have come across from Universal after the Simpson’s Ride had been opened.
We stopped off at Jimmy Buffets. I got a “It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere T’Shirt while the ladies chilled in the sun.
Called in at ……………………………….........................Wal Mart for packing tape for Callum’s guitar and I found a great shirt with fishing flies all over it, so I had to get one. Mum and Zena had been looking for tea-towels with Mickey on all holiday and they found them at last.
We went back to the condo and did a couple of hours packing before going and chillin’ out at the pool with a few more cocktails and shared a platter of potato skins, hot wings etc. as a late tea.
