Just looked at the weather channel for Orlando. The next 10 day forecast show that we have 60% T-storms for most of the days we are there. Is this pretty acurate? I am having second thoughts now. We leave on Friday and arrive at WDW on Saturday. We plan on commin home on Thursday.

We left last year a day early due to the rain. It was just not fun being at WDW in the rain. I understand that it's Florida and they have rainshowers during the day. I am talking about lots of rain...all day.

we like the rain, not crazy storms but rain, lots of folks go home or stay home and we get to do a lot more stuff........don't like it when they cancel the parades though...

We just got back two weeks ago and it showed the same thing. Basically it rained everyday from 4-5:30pm and that was it. It was a downer cause it looked kinda soggy at times, but with many attractions indoors, we barely noticed it. Just go and enjoy your stay. Atleast your not being blindsided and your preparing for the worst, so if it doesn't rain, its even better! :)

we are about at the end of our rainy season. Please don't let the rain stop you from doing whatever you want to do. If it rains while you are here and it's calling for an all day rain (which it hasn't done in about a month!) hit AK.

Why go to Animal Kingdom?

I would think that MGM, with the many indoor attractions like Startours, ToT, RnRC, etc. would be better for rain...

Animal Kingdom the animals are more active and it would be cooler there in the rain. AK is the hottest park.
MGM is so so for a rainy day. LMA doesn't run and neither does Indy

That's normal Sept. weather. No big deal. It's usually a storm between 4-6pm and it passes.

Clearly, your best option is to stay home. So send me your tickets and hotel information. Your room is prepaid, isn't it?

;)

BTW, congratulations on the anniversary!

i would def. still go. we have gone alot in august. a few summers ago my dd had 2 friends with her,it was our summer of rain and thunderstorms everyday. some days were bad,but we still had a great time. in fact alot of the pictures are actually funny cause they were soaking wet in a few. we just put the ponchos on and went out. it bothered us a few days, but sometimes it seemed less crowded also. you will still have a great time.. its raining now where i live, i wish i was at disney in the rain instead of home.........haha

take raingear and go...lines are shorter for many things when folks head back...last year we even took the DGD and had a rain bonnet for her stroller and didn't let it slow us down...we had a great time and got to do a lot more because others left for parts unknown...ENJOY!!!! pirate: princess:

You will find that the forcast from the middle of July till the middle of October is pretty much the same: scattered thunderstorms.

Storms pass through in the afternoon between 3pm and 6pm (they get later in teh day as the year progresses), lasting about 30-60 minutes. Afterward, it's a steam bath for an hour or two, and then you can look at the pavement and never know it was raining like crazy an hour ago.

Consider the afternoon thundershowers to be a natural form of fireworks and use them as an excuse for a midafternoon break.
