can you just walk in T-Rex or would we need to book and also what about downtown disney rainforest cafe

T-Rex is a very hot restaurant. If you really want to go you need reservations. Rainforest Cafe, not sure.

But my rule of thumb is make ressies, that way you won't be disappointed.

I made a resservation for a Sat night at 9:00pm. It was the only reservation time left at 180 days out. Still waited almost a half hour for a table. Lets just say there were some grumpy, hungry people at 9:30pm. The place was packed and loud. The food was good. I woud go back, but only if I could get 5 or 6pm reservation.

We went to T-Rex this time last year on a Wednesday night and were seated within 10 minutes with no reservation. There were four of us and it looked like there was a huge line up but that was just a large group waiting for their tables. My aunt and uncle were around that night too and were seated right away at the bar and had their dinner at the bar. We found the service and food was excellent and would definitely go back next time we are in Florida - even if we aren't able to go to WDW. It was noisy but it was great!
It's not included in a dining plan now is it? Is that why it is so busy now? Just trying to think of what had changed since we went to make it so busy or maybe we were just very lucky that night.:lovestruc

We went not long after they opened, and the walk-up wait was at least an hour at dinner time. I'd say call directly and get a reservation - it can't hurt to have one if you have an idea when you will be going! :thumbsup2 If you haven't seen the posts about this, try and call T-Rex directly if you can't get a ressie through the WDW site. I did this for out trip - no availability on the web site, but any time I wanted when I called.

Since T-Rex is NOT owned by Disney, they only hold a few tables for each seating on their website.

Call direct and you get better seating - definately do call ahead - especially on a weekend night, it is the same as Rainforest Cafe; you could be looking at a 1-1/2 to 2 hour wait.

The first year, I walked up and asked when they had the next available table - she looked at me and said, Monday - and she wasn't kidding....
