Hi

Does anyone know when this restaurant at DD is officially going to open?

My :goofy: is dinosaur mad and will simply want to spend every day eating here. We are on the dining plan for next April and would love to include some ADRs here when I am able to book them later this year.

I know it is currently still in the building process but am really hoping it will be open by April......

We are staying at POR and love riding the boat down of an evening time to eat at DD. It is so relaxing....

Here's an article I found online. Take it for what it's worth.

Schussler sells T-Rex restaurant concept
Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal - February 28, 2006by John Vomhof Jr.Staff Writer

Schussler Creative Inc., which developed the Rainforest Cafe and other restaurants, said it has sold a majority interest in its new dinosaur-themed restaurant concept.

Golden Valley-based Schussler sold 80 percent of its T-Rex cafe concept to Houston-based Landry's Restaurants Inc. (NYSE: LNY) for $7.6 million. Under the deal, Landry's can also acquire the remaining 20 percent stake for as much as $35 million.

The T-Rex concept will feature animatronic dinosaurs in a prehistoric environment.

The first T-Rex restaurant is slated to debut this spring in Kansas City, Kan. A second location is scheduled to open in Downtown Disney, near Orlando, Fla., in early 2008.

Landry's also acquired a majority interest in Asia, another Schussler concept, scheduled to open inside Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park by summer 2007.

Landry's operates more than 300 restaurants, including Joe's Crab Shack and Rainforest Cafe.

Like kimkarli said, interesting. Hope its true. DS would love to go to something like that on our Summer 2008 trip!

Just a reminder that currently the Landry's (RFC) restaurants do not participate in the DDP so plan accordingly to minimize disappointment.

We visited the one in Kansas City last month. It is decorated to the hilt with animatronic dinosaurs! Any dinosaur lovers would adore it! The prices were high, as to be expected. The food was good, but not wonderful...as to be expected. You are really there for the atmosphere, not the food was our thinking.
They also had a build-a-bear type area where you could build dinosaurs, a sand pit to dig for dinosaur bones (separate admission charge), and a large shopping area.
We would definitely recommend going there if you have a dinosaur fanatic in your family!

Wow!

Thanks for the info - sounds fantastic - do they have rooms ?

My :goofy: will absolutely love it. Won't be able to get him out but will worry about that nearer the time. Even if not on the DDP will still be worth it. Can you still make ADRs even if not using DDP credits?

Anyone have any further info on a possible opening date?

:disrocks:

Thanks ever so much.

Thanks for reminding me of this. DS loves Dinosaurs and I've been saving GC's for RFC, but we plan on using DDP for our next two trips (last two trips for a LONG time) and I was trying to figure out how to work them in. I think I'll save them for T-Rex. Since we have family/friends in the area and I'll need a disney fix, we can make a day of it at DTD!
