My boyfriend and I are taking a night away from my family and going to dinner just the two of us. I ask him where he wants to go-- anywhere- and he picks T-rex

So what's good there? To be honest, the setting isn't really for me, but I want to make sure I order the right thing. Thanks!!

We went in September and were very unimpressed. It may have been the only meal during our 10-day trip that we regretted having. It was very expensive--I think about $90 for 2 adults, a 3 year old and a 1 year old. The appetizer was good but our meals lacked flavor and didn't seem fresh. I can't remember what we ordered. Sorry I can't be more specific. We are not picky eaters and enjoyed the rest of our meals including similar places like Hard Rock and Rainforest Cafe. The atmosphere is cool especially for kids. Hopefully we just went on an off night and you'll enjoy yourselves.

We really enjoy T-Rex and have always had good food there. It is a little on the pricey side, but when we go it's usually for special events like double b-day lunches for our 2 oldest boys (OT, but they are 7 years apart, both due the same day and both born the same day, which also was my mom's b-day-weird, huh?)

Anyways...I really enjoyed the sampler, it's really big, but so good! It's the Supersaurus Sampler. I got this and my sister got the Fire Roasted Rotisserie Chicken with potatoes and we split. Yummmmmmm.

My other sister got the Lost World Chicken Salad Sandwich and gave it 2 thumbs up! DH got the Stegosaurus Steak and Cheese Sandwich, the little boys got the mini cheeseburgers and the big boy got the ribs-everyone was happy!

There are really nice pics and the full menu at allearsnet as well. Enjoy! :earsboy:

I'm a chicken salad fanatic and got it when I was there in March. I absolutely hated it. :confused3 It had virtually no flavor, and the chicken tasted like it was boiled. :scared1:

DH had the fish and chips and really liked that (I didn't try as I don't eat fish). His meal was huge! I had the nachos from the appetizer list for my entree and they were easily big enough to share with 2 people, if not 3. :goodvibes We also tried the wings and those were your standard buffalo wings. Someone else with us got the guacamole burger and said it was just ok. I didn't try that either, as I don't care for guacamole.

We have gone twice and guess we were lucky because it was good both times. We really enjoyed it. This is what I got both times and it was delicous:

Paleonzoic Chicken Sandwich - Fried pizza dough with grilled chicken, lettuce, bacon, pepper jack cheese, avocado, tomato and lemon aioli $14.99

I have always wanted to try it as well...we havent yet as we have been on the DDP...I want to try the sampler so bad I hear it is good...Plus I wanna see the place I hear it is awesome..It was pretty new the last time we went and the line was mega long so we decided to just eat on the DDP and save that money..Maybe the next time we go it won't be so crowded :thumbsup2

We love T-rex but I didn't like the pizza dough on this sandwich. We go at least 2 times every trip but usually sit at the bar and get apps and drinks. The nachos are YUMMY! I get home and spend a few weeks ordering nachos at our restaurants because I crave T-rex's but I am always disappointed! we get the fried mozz (not just mozz stix) and really like it. We have had the 1/2 chicken and ribs with waffle fries also good. I had the chicken fried steak the last time I was there and it would have been good but it was swimming in grease. The theme is awesome! The wholly mammal is my fav!

Thanks for the info everyone! Sounds like mixed reviews so far.. kind of getting nervous. Sounds like apps might be the way to go, or the chicken sandwich.

We are going to T-Rex on our upcoming trip and I plan on ordering the nachos with just the cheese and cheese sauce. Plain. I am vegetarian and there aren't a lot of choices for me, but I am hoping the kids love the atmosphere and theming.

We were just there about 2 weeks ago and loved it. It was one of the best meals of our 11 day trip. We shared the queso and shrimp dip app, I had the pulled pork sandwich, dh had a chicken wrap thing. Kids had roast chicken, corn dogs, and we all shared the chocolate extinction for dessert. We found the food, service, and atmosphere all very good (and we're pretty picky)
