What's your favorite food there? Anyone have any idea what the kids menu is? I looked online and did not see any kids menu, but the adult one looks pretty good. The reviews are iffy on this place and the waits seem to be outrageous. Do they not manage reservations very well?

Anyone had the Colossal Nachos? I searched and searched for a picture and couldn't find one. Silly, I know but I'd like to see them before I order. ;)

I haven't eaten there, but I'd really love to, their menu sounds awesome!!! I was planning on going there this next trip, but then found out they don't take the dining plan so had to cancel. Here is the kids' menu however...

DH and I went in September with no reservation and walked right in. He had a gigantic cheeseburger and I had the paleo shrimp. He liked his burger (I don't know that you can really ruin a burger, though). I loved the shrimp! I plan on getting them again when we go this September. No kids, so I can't help there.

The food is pretty much the same as Rainforest Cafe (same company).

I did the quesadillas and they were okay.

My cousin has had the nachos before and she said they were amazing, but she did have to share with 2 other people.

The ambience is REALLY cool and they do the thunderstorm just like at RFC. The price is high IMO. It was $70 for 1 app, 1 entree, and 1 kid's meal plus 2 sodas.

We will be returning to T-Rex this trip (DH and DS must-do). We do have a ressie, in which I called T-Rex DIRECT and booked our ressie on an off time (4:00 p.m.). I did not go through Disney to book it (sometimes Disney says they are full, when they are not).

I think the biggest problems with the wait times is that the place is just massive. If they get a rush, it kills the kitchen, and then they have loooooooooong food ticket times. That, in turn, pushes back getting through your meal. We got there at 11:00 (right at open as a walk in) and it took us 25 minutes to get some corn dogs, a quesadilla, and a sandwich. Our entire mealtime was well over an hour and a half for lunch. Service was very slow. We weren't even greeted at our table for over 10 minutes. Granted, I'm really picky on service - I used to be a server in another life and notice little things - DH calls me neurotic and misses 1/2 of what I see...

If you are worried about timing, I recommend grabbing a bite at Earl of Sandwich and hitting up T-Rex for one of their monster desserts. You'll still get the experience of being in there, it just won't cost as much or take as long.

I've seen the massive lines outside of T-Rex but have not gone in there yet. Our plans to date are to go in Sept. I called T-Rex directly and made reservations.

I have eaten there a couple of times and kwitcherkicken99 is dead on in my opinion.

I see the Rainforest Cafe get beat up on the forums often but I actually like it there, and this food is little more than a name swap. Very similar style.

regular menu on wdwinfo HERE
allears has the kids menu up HERE

kids will love it here, but it is even louder than the rainforest if you can believe it !

We had reservations last week at TRex. We called to say we were running late and they moved it up 30 minutes. When we arrived we waited only a couple of minutes before being seated in the Ice Room. I actually found our lunch to be very nice. The server was quick in taking drink orders, arrived back to take food orders promptly and the wait was average for the food. During our wait we took turns bringing the children around the restuarant and taking pictures. The children enjoyed their choices, my DH had the ribs (which he really enjoyed) and I had the chicken sandwich that was like a chalupa - although it was a little bland the waitress brought me some BBQ Ranch which livened it up a bit! Honestly, it was a good experience for us and my worries about my son having issues with the noise were soon alleviated - I thought it was a bit noisy but no more so than any other place at Disney with families. Actually the room changed colors and the meteor showers were NOT as loud as I expected but perhaps it was because of our seating area? Either way although the food was nothing spectacular it was an enjoyable experience and we would probably go back another time, the kids loved it.

We had reservations last august and there was a huge line but we were seated right on time. The food is just like Rain Forest. We have reservations for our June trip comming up. So we like it (my son loves it)

We were also seated on time when we went for lunch last summer..I called them directly for a reservation :)

We really like T-rex, awesome atmosphere. The apps and dessert at both T-rex/RFC are fab, so that's what we stick with. We have safari club so we always do the free app., but check mousesavers for Landrys coupons. The nachos are pretty much the same as at RFC and they are huge and yummy, don't skip dessert :lovestruc the chocolate extinction.

We have eaten there a couple of times. My kids love the atmosphere. It is loud. If you are seated near a dinosaur plan on lots of kids walking up to see it. The food is OK. I had the fish tacos and they were just OK. We are going back to the WDW this October and T-Rex is not on our list to go back to.

I had a burger when we went last year. It was good. Boyfriend got the ribs and they were so good! They were so tender they were falling off the bones. It was a good choice on his part. DS had the kids burgers.
We ordered an appetizer, 2 adult entrees and a kids meal and it was around $60. We were too full for dessert. We had a ressie so it didn't take too long to get seated. We shopped while waiting for our table. They have a Build a Dino in the shop. We split open a geode which was too cool. I don't know if they let all kids do it but the let DS (13 at the time) do it. They do it the old fashioned way. There is also a small playground for the kids to play in. So if you end up with a wait, there is plenty to do.

Thanks so much for all the info. We are going in October and I was not able to get a Res online so I will make sure to call them in person. My daughter is going to love this, she is fascinated with dinosaurs. :hippie:

Thanks again!!

I love TREX so do the kids!

I get the lobster ravioli, it is one of my favorite meals on my vacation. My DH either gets the ribs or burgers and has enjoyed both. My kids usually get the dinosaur nuggets typical things but my DD loves my ravioli too. Good food and a fun atmosphere is what u get.

I enjoyed T-Rex and would like to go back. The only problem is they sat us in the ice age room (whatever its called) and the room changed from neon hot pink to neon blue. My DH had such a headache after dinner that we went straight back to the room. He will not go back. I did enjoy the food very much. DD and I split the appetizer sampler with ribs.

We ate there during spring break this year. Took forever to get seated. The service was very good tho once we got seated. DD & I shared the Colossal Nachos & I may have a picture, will check tonight, we also shared the country fried steak, was ok, wouldn't order again. I know there was some fries that were very good but my 9yr old grandson order the pepperoni pizza & said it was not good at all. We didn't do dessert...

We just ate there on 5/29/10. I booked my ressie back in January. After we checked in we were seated in less than 5 minutes and it was packed. People behind us were witching about us being seated right away, but I had called 5 months in advance.

We loved it.:dance3:

We started with the Nachos... omg awesome
my son had the lasagne and it was very small for him. But between that and the nachos and dessert he was full. Kids menu gives really small portions.

My husband had the Country Fried Steak with Onion rings as a side and it was excellent.

I had the Filet. It was a small piece but it was good.

Dessert we did the share a plate. I have pictures of the nachos and the dessert. PM if you want them. I loved the Margaritas, they do not skimp out on them.

We ate here in October and it's on our list again for this coming October.

I had the T-Rexadillas (Chicken Quesadillas) and not only were they fantastic but they were HUGE. My BF had the Chicken Fried Steak, which he said was also fantastic and was equally as enormous...it was falling-off-the-plate big!

We had an ADR and hardly had any wait....we showed up, gave our name to the hostess and were seated within 10 minutes tops...I don't even think it was more than 5 minutes to be honest. I can't WAIT to go back!

Picutres would be GREAT if you are willing to post them! Thanks for offering! :thumbsup2

I am getting more excited about this reservation with all of the positive responses. Thanks for sharing your experiences. :)
