Both?
Planning on making ADRs in a few weeks, and we are wanting to take our 6,4, and 3 year old DDs to at least one, fun, interactive restaurant at DTD. Which of the two is better? Is it overkill to do each one in a week long trip? Do both T-Rex and RC take ADRs?

We loved T-Rex!! Both children (dd3 and ds1) thought it was awesome! The food was good, there was plenty of it, and the service was great as well. We were not too crazy about Rainforest Cafe though - we won't go back there. The food was lackluster, the service was just ok, and there are so many other great places to eat. Have fun!

I'm just the opposite - I adore the food and atmosphere at the Rainforest Cafe, though admittedly the service was rather slow. I ate at T-Rex on the night before we went home, and the food was outstanding, but the service was slow there as well. I think it was just so busy that it was taking a while for everyone to get their drinks/food/checks.

T-Rex is fun and interesting, but if you book there, I recommend doing so for an earlier night in your trip. It's a popular restaurant, so it would be obnoxiously loud even if giant dinosaurs weren't rawring every 15 minutes!! I think since we were exhausted, the buzzing of the crowd with a simulated meteor shower was just sensory overload. :scared1:

We love both, but IMHO T-Rex is better atmosphere wise.

I agree with Sleeping Becca, the atmosphere at T Rex is more impressive. The food was good too and the waiter we had was really nice! I definitely pick T Rex over RFC.

We much preferred the food at T-Rex. However we like the atmosphere at RFC best . . . not sure if we were sitting in the wrong area, but we didn't think much of the effects in T-Rex.

I definitely prefer the food at T-rex over RFC. However, keep in mind that they are both loud and could scare small children. The first time DD #1 went to T-rex, she spent most of the meal buried in my side because she was scared. She did think the dinosaurs were cool, just wasn't too thrilled with the meteor shower.

We have eaten there twice for lunch with no reservations.

We got there at 11:00am and were seated right away.

We prefer TRex as well. The food is much better and we do like the atmosphere. The food at the RFC IMO has went downhill over the last few years. I like the menu at TRex much better.

As far as reservations for TRex.. you dont need them but if you dont have them you could be stuck waiting an hour or so.

My vote would be for T-Rex, both for food and atmosphere. We found the service to be equal at both places.

As for reservations, you can make them for both places through Disney, however only a certain number of tables are released to the dining line. The rest are held by the restaurants as they are not Disney owned/operated. If you can't get anything through Disney try calling the restaurants directly and you should have little trouble getting exactly what you want.

do you need reservations for T-REX?

Yes. The best way is to call them direct. You can get the phone number from the Landry's website.

We have eaten at RFC many times ( we have one here close to home).
We ate a TRex for the first time this past June.

I would definately pick TRex. The theming is amazing, the service was great and we enjoyed the food more than RFC.

There are several Rainforest Cafes all over the world, but only 2 (I believe) T-Rex cafes. We love them both, but T-rex is newer and has better animatronics and is great if you have boys who are into dinos. They also have a dino dig area outside!

I enjoy RFC, but my DD and I really LOVED TRex when we went in Feb. So much so, we're going again in Nov. Service, atmosphere, AWESOME, food, quite good!
