T-REX or Rainforest Cafe

We have coupon for either and didn't know which one you would recommend for kids under 5. Thanks! Also, can we call direct and get reservation times?

We've done TRex the past 3 years and are trying RF this year. Always enjoyed TRex, good service and decent food. Meteor show (every 20 mins) can be a bit noisy, but other than that, nothing to worry about. Kids might also enjoy the Build-A-Dino shop there. You can reserve through WDW Dining or call direct if no availablity there.

I have been to rainforest cafe a few times so we are trying t-rex this trip.

Do you mind sharing where you got the coupons? We are not doing the dinning plan this trip.

I made reservations online though Disney's system.. not sure if you can call direct. The dates I was looking at the end of August only had 4pm and than 9pm available.. nothing in between.

I Love Rainforest. We've never been to TRex. We are going this trip. The menu and food pics looks very similar to Rainforest. TRex is not on Dining Plan though. We found that out when we made our reservations. Not sure if that will help with your decision or not.

I thought T-Rex was included in the dining plan now. Did something just change?

Our family chose T-Rex over Rainforest for our Disney trip this past February. Our youngest LOVES dinosaurs so it was the best choide for us! Both boys had an BLAST - the moving dinosaurs, the meteorite showers, and the roaring sounds were great. I could see how it might be a little loud or intense for younger children, though. Our boys are both under 5 as well, and didn't have a problem with any of it. The meals are more "dinosaur-ish," but the food is very similar to that at Rainforest (although my husband though it might be slightly better than Rainforest). There are some good videos on You Tube if you want to get a sense of what the resturant is like before you decide.

We made our ADR through the Disney Reservation system, but I have heard that it is often easier to get the day and time you are looking for if you call direct.

And as of 2012 they do take the Disney Dining Plan, if you will be using that!

We call direct and are able to get most any time we want, sometimes even same day.

We've never done RFC, we will be trying it for the first time this year. TRex is a must for us every year though!

We live near a RFC so I would choose TRex but in essence they are the same food so what ever motif tickles your fancy

My kids like Trex better. I have gotten ressies by calling direct when Disney site showed none available. Try the chocolate extinction dessert, it's awesome. Enough for whole family and kids get a kick out of "smoking" dessert coming to table.

Yes, both the Rainforest (DtD and AK) and T-Rex are both on the Dining Plan now. This started with the 2012 plans.

Of the two, I prefer the food at T-Rex (and we have always had better service there) but the cocktails at Rainforest are better

I have eaten at both and PREFER T-Rex to RFC BUT we are eating at both when we go back!

We love both, but think the menu is better at T-Rex. You can ALWAYS get better availability if you call direct. Disney HAd NO times for our entire trip- when I called I was able to pick ANY time I wanted. She told me very FEW times are given for Disney reservation sysytem.
