T-REX....is food similar to RF Cafe?

Just wanted to gather some opinions on the T-REX restaurant.
I was considering taking my daughter's there on our next trip. I thought my youngest might enjoy the dinosaurs and making a Build-a-Dino.
How is the food similar to the RF Cafe? I'm not a huge fan of the food at RF but I wouldn't say it was so horrible that I would never eat it again.

We have eaten at T Rex several times and enjoyed it more than the Rainforest. I think the food is better but would think it is pretty much the same thing just different names!

We also really enjoyed T-Rex. The food is very similar to Rainforest but I thought T-Rex was better. We had lunch there so we all had sandwiches/burgers. We had a couple dinosaur lovers in our group who LOVED the restaurant.

We just ate at T-Rex on Nov. 15th and really enjoyed the food. This was the 3rd straight year that we have eaten there. The food is similar to Rainforest Cafe but we have always enjoyed what we have ordered at T-Rex. My husband had the burger, I had the chicken salad croissant sandwich and DD10 and DD8 both had pasta (one with Alfredo sauce and the other with marinara). Our server noticed that my husband had a birthday pin on and surprised him with a dish of ice cream w/whipped cream and a cookie and had all the servers sing "happy birthday" to him. A nice surprise! We live close to a Rainforest Cafe but Downtown Disney is the only place that we get to go to a T-Rex. Our entire family loves it! Our girls did the Make-A-Dino the first time we went and had a blast (they also own way too many build-a-bears) I highly reccommend T-Rex!

I agree that the food is of a better standard at T-Rex than that of RF but I also prefer the surroundings of T-Rex over that ove the RF

I can't stand the food at RF, I've eaten there 3 times and been disappointed each time. But I found the food at T-Rex to be really good and the portions to be abundant.

I am actually the opposite of everyone else. We love RFC and go every trip. We tried T-Rex last time and hated the food- blah. I also have two boys and we did not like the theming- I think they could have done so much more. Now, the Build-A-Dino was a huge hit and I think is great! But, from now on, it's RFC always for us!

Not sure how old your daughter is, but it is worth a warning that the "meteor shower" at T-Rex which they do every 20 minutes or so is a lot darker and scarier than what they do at RFC. I found T-Rx to be louder, is a bit more imposing for kids, but has better food.

The food is the same at T-Rex. Same owners. Last time I ate at T-Rex with my family we all got sick and had to go back to our hotel for the night. Food poisoning got us all and we all had different entrees. Needless to say I won't be going back

my opinion out there. The food quality and pricing are about the same. The food items are different. After trying both we'll be doing RFC this next trip, but I can see why others would have the opposite view.

The food/menu is very similar to RFC.....I have had great meals at both and had so so meals at both....just depends on the guy in the kitchen that day.

TRex is still pretty new and has a newer staff, so I think you have more food being done by the book than at RFC....who knows if it will last.

Same bad, overrated food at both. We have both of them in our area, so I wouldn't even consider going at WDW. But, if you have a dinosaur fanatic, it would be worth it to go once.

We dislike the food at RFC, but actually thought the food at T-Rex was pretty good.

We found the types of food to be similar at both restaurants. However, we thought the quality at T-Rex was much better. We liked the theming at T-Rex a lot more as well.
