I just made all of our ADRs and our first stop is at T-Rex for my 6 year old DS.

However, I don't really ever hear anyone talk about it. How is the food?

The food is ok. It's not bad, but it's not great. The adult drinks are fairly tasty. Your son will love it though. The food is very similar to Rainforest Cafe. They are both owned by Landry's. You might check into getting a Landry's preferred card for the discounts. It can also get you priority seating, which is not needed at T-Rex since you have an ADR. Beware of the gift shop, if you don't want to be buying anything for your son.

Great! Thank you. We don't drink so hopefully the food will be good. Also, I'm pretty sure we're gonna buy him a build-a-dinosaur since he'd love that. LOL

The portions are huge. We've always been happy with our meals (usually order burgers, fish and chips, chicken burgers, pasta - so pretty basic). I like the waffle fries - yum. Once we got the chocolate extinction dessert to share (4 people) and it was terrific! Your son might enjoy the dinosaur dig site. It looks like fun for children about his age. We go once a year to T-Rex (each time we go to Disney). It has always been a fun experience for my family and we keep going back:-) Enjoy!

We thought the food was pretty good. Portions are huge and can easily be shared. If you've been to the rainforest cafe- it's very very similar. DS was 3 when we went and he loved it- he's obsessed with dinosaurs though.

I love love love their bruschetta! DH and I get the appetizer that has like four things on it for our meal. We get the appetizer add on for the ribs and DH gets his ribs but doesn't have to pay a small fortune. Kids meals are typical food and quality. But I dream about the bruschetta!

We really enjoyed the food at T-Rex. I was so excited to bring my 4 yr old who is obsessed with dinosaurs. Unfortunately, he was scared of it. It was a little dark and loud with roars and thunder. Most kids seemed ok though. I just wanted to point this out just in case.

We have 3 boys and 1 baby girl... We only had our 3 sons (not our daughter yet) when we ate here a couple years ago.. The boys loved it! They were 6, 4, and 7 months.. We also did the build a Dino since we don't do build a bear a lot since we have mainly boys. We thought the build a Dino was such a great idea! They even put a roar button (and heart) in the dinos. So cute! And I agree the food is just okay but the atmosphere is great for kids and we will be eating here again fo that.

We loved T Rex when we were there! Thought the food was good, service was good, a really fun experience. My only suggestion, avoid the "ice cave" room. The lighting in there is really harsh on the eyes, and it's kind of hard to see (blue and red lights) I am going to ask for a different room on our next visit

It looks like I might be in the minority but we did not care for their food at all Out of our party of six no one enjoyed their meal. I will give a big thumbs up for the theming, atmosphere and service though! It is definitely something that your 6 year old will love and should experience atleast once.
