We visited twice during our November trip - once to eat and once just for a drink. We had to abort our first attempt as it was absolutely mobbed - just fighting our way through the waiting hordes outside to take a look was an ordeal. We figured it may be quieter at lunchtime and so headed back there the next day. It was virtually empty when we arrived. We spent quite a bit of time at Downtown Disney this trip and it was the same each time we were in that area - crazily busy during the evenings and more than manageable at lunchtimes. That's been our experience with Rainforest Cafe, too, so I suppose it's not surprising.
Obviously I was aware before we went that this was "Rainforest Cafe with dinosaurs", but, from the photos I'd seen, I wasn't expecting an identical footprint. It's all laid out in precisely the same way - store to the right of the podium, bar to the left and then various "rooms" off that. That's an observation rather than a criticism. The main differences are the open kitchen and the way it's all lit which gives it a distinct feel. Oh, and, in common with RFC, the air con is cranked to the max.
Like RFC, the food is a tad on the expensive side, but plentiful and the menu is pretty similar, too. We didn't want too much as we had a dinner reservation, so each ordered from the starter menu and both were enormous. We had the Colosso Nachos (seasoned beef, pico de gallo, black beans, green onions, cheddar cheese, queso sauce and sour cream) and the Footprints Flatbread (warm flatbread topped with cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan and goat's cheeses, rotisserie chicken and caramalised onions, drizzled with a balsamic glaze). I've never understood the criticisms of the food at RFC and this didn't disappoint, either - both were really good.
