Has anyone been here? My daughter LOVES dinosaurs and I just found out that they have this restaurant. I know it's not on the dining plan, but I figured maybe we could go there for lunch after we check out on our last day. Has anyone been? If so, how was the food/atmosphere?

The atmosphere is really neat, but the food is not that great. We went during our trip when were getting married so we had our Disney weddings buttons on and our waiter surprised us with a special dessert with one pink and one blue candle! I used the blue one for my something blue on my wedding day :). Because of the REALLY neat atmosphere and friendly staff we make a point to go there on our DW trips. I recommend checking it out!

If you are familiar with Rainforest Cafe, its the same company and pretty much the same food. Nothing spectacular, but pull up some YouTube videos of the restaurant to see the dinos in action. We booked it in September for DS who  dinosaurs.

We also make it there every trip. We have the DP as well, but it is well worth it for the kiddos. Like previously said, food is average, but never had anything nasty or bad service. We usually do dinner there on our first night, then Ghirardelli for dessert, we have been doing this for 4 years now and absolutely love it on our first night! Worth paying out of pocket.

Food is mediocre, prices are high, service is usually good, but when you get down to it, where else can you eat with dinosaurs?! We don't do it every time, but it is definitely worth a visit. Just remember to take advantage of teh atmosphere and enjoy the experience.

We just returned this week and ate at T-Rex last Wednesday night. We, too, were on the dining plan, but DS loves dino's so we made special effort to go for dinner. Honestly, after reading reviews regarding the food, I expected it to be worse. I had the fish tacos and my husband had the Mahi Mahi (I think) and while they were not the best we have ever eaten, they were not the worse. By far. The atmosphere was reallly great. Better than Rainforest IMHO. Our son loved it! One room is an "ice cave" and is pretty cool. Call to make reservations. We had a 6pm and walked right in. Past a pretty long line of people who walked up.

Have a great trip! I am already going through WDW withdraws!

We ate there a couple of summers ago and might do it again this summer. Are they still taking walk ups or is it all ADR?

PS....we had a blast. Food is average, but ok, but the surronding were so awesome.

We went to T-Rex for lunch in Sept 2010 & April 2011 and enjoyed it both times. I agree with previous posters - food is mediocre & a bit $$, but atmosphere is alot of fun. The desserts there are also pricey, but very good - we liked both the chocolate extinction & ice age indulgence :thumbsup2

Food is really expensive (in my opinion) for what it is, BUT i think you're def paying for the atmosphere... which is crazy-cool!! i think if you have a child that loves dinosaurs, it would TOTALLY be worth it!! we couldn't get over the environment!! sooo awesome!

The atmosphere is awesome. However, it was quite loud. I can't comment on the food because I got sick afterwards (not the food's fault) and I don't think I will ever be able to eat there again because of that.

The atmosphere is awesome for dino loving people. It is LOUD! Not that you would expect a place full of dinosaurs to be any different.;)
The food is *meh* and it is very expensive...but the portions are huge so you can definately share comfortably.:)
They have a large gift shop - shocking I know! (which includes at Build A Dino - like Build a Bear) and a fun area outside that the kiddos can dig dino bones in the sand.
I don't love it..but DS7 LOVES it..so we are heading back next week. :goodvibes

A tip I read here a while ago and used for us last week. There were no reservations available through Disney Dining Reservations when we wanted to go so I looked up the restaurant website and called the restaraunt directly and got the time I wanted. It worked out great.

We are planning on eating here the first night we arrive. After looking at the menu, I think we might just do several appetizers (family of 7) and a couple huge desserts. We are going more for the atmosphere than the food.

Atmosphere is nice and unique. Very loud and chaotic. The food is very poor. If you've ever been to Rainforest Cafe the food is very similar.

We are all adults and love this place. Granted we do drinks and apps or a meal at the bar........If your DD loves dinosaurs you can not miss this place. The dinos are so cool! The food is good the only thing we have had that wasn't was the chicken sandwich on pizza dough:confused3. Kinda like a wrap but NOT! The waffle fries are YUM!

If your daughter loved dinosaurs, she will love this place. We have been there twice and the food was good, not great, but the atmosphere is fantastic!

Totally agree! It is worth going there once but I wouldn't go there every trip.

Since they are owned by the same company that owns Rainforest Cafe, they take Rainforest coupons. We had a coupon for .99 cent kids meals which they honored. Just google rainforest and see if one pops up :cool1:

We had fun there! We broke a geode open. Someone recommended the ribs and they were delicious. I had a burger but was pregnant and really just wanted a burger. It was a burger. Good but just a burger. The mozzarella sticks were also very good there. We also enjoy Rain Forest Cafe though. Have fun!

I agree with most. We have been waiting to try T-REX with our 4yo who loves dinos. We went on a Friday afternoon last month. Walked up to the podium and were seated within 10 mins. The place is neat to shop and look around but the food was expensive.$95.00 for lunch for 2 adults 12yo and 4 yo.
We wouldnt have minded so much if the food was good but it wasnt. Just ehh.
Would not go again except to look around the store perhaps.Sorry. Would rather do Earl of Sandwich instead.

We have eaten at T-Rex twice. The food is just okay (although we think it's much better than Rainforest Cafe), but the atmosphere is really neat! Your daughter will definitely enjoy it.
