We'll be in WDW in late June. Wanted to get some feedback on the new T-Rex cafe in DTD. Anybody can give me a review on the place?

Thanks!

I ate there in Late January. I thought the food was good, portions Huge (dino sized). I will say it can be a bit on pricy side but I knew this going in and was prepared. It is loud at times and maybe scary to younger set.
If you wish to see menu you can go to trexcafe.com and see menu with prices or allears also has menu but last time I looked it was entire menu.

If you have ever eaten at Rainforest Cafe it's same idea but Dino themed and is owned by same company.

We ate there in January and were very disappointed with the meal. DS wanted to treat us to a nice meal as a thank you for the trip and he picked to try the new T-Rex. When I saw the prices I could have fainted. But I figured it's WDW and this is just the way it is. I figured the food would make up for the cost. DH and I purposely choose less expensive items to save some cash for DS but in the end it cost $90 with the DVC discount. DH and I both got the steak sandwich and they were awful. The meat was dry, tough and almost inedible. We were so excited about this place but all it did was disappoint. :headache:

We loved it! We all enjoyed our food. DH got a burger and it was large and filled him up. I ordered lasagna and it was also very good. The kids meals were standard kids meals. I think the environment is amazing! We loved it so much. One of my DD's (5 at the time) was terrified though. I can imagine that a lot of small children get scared in there during the meteror shower. She got over it after a little while and really enjoyed it. We're eating there again in June!

One suggestion--ask to not be seated in the ice room if you're at all sensitive to strange lighting. I thought it was the neatest area and I had really wanted to sit there. I had to use the restroom during our meal and you have to go into the ice room to get there. The lighting in there is so terrible. I would have had a headache if I'd have been in there more than a few minutes. I just can't imagine having to sit there for a whole meal.

We were just there a couple of weeks ago. The food is overpriced for what you get but my family all had food that was okay. The menu reminds me of Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, etc. You are paying for the atmosphere, not the food. My mom and I got the rotisserie chicken plate and it was good. Our biggest problem is that we ate in the room where the loudest part of the meteor shower occurs every 20 minutes. My five-year-old nephew was so excited to eat here, but after the first meteor shower he was on the edge. It was really over-the-top and loud and he kept putting his hands on his ears afraid that it was about to start again. We ended up having to take him out of the room each time that it occurred. It is a cool effect, but it does not have to be quite as loud and once an hour would definitely be sufficient. If I went back, I would ask to sit in one of the other rooms which were not as loud. On a positive note, we went on a Monday afternoon and had 5:30 reservations. We got there earlier and the place was pretty empty and we were able to be seated immediately. By the time we left there was a line, but it was pretty short.

We ate here twice in January--- ds loved it and we had a car so getting there was easy (buses take a while)... I had the steak sandwich once and the omnivore's delight the 2nd time; the sandwich was ok, the salad great. I am planning on returning next month... ds again. It is expensive but portions huge- could easily share....
As far as the noise issue- we sat in the main room x2 and it is loud but ok. Ds has sensory issues and uses earplugs at differnet things around WDW but was fine here.

PS has anyone had the tuna appetizer? It sounds yummy---and not a heavy meal for the summertime

and not a heavy meal
