Hi

I recently posted a comment about a meal we had in T-Rex with my son who has a nut allergy and someone quoted my post asking for more details. I tried to PM them last night, but was doing it from my iPhone and it doesn't look like it sent. So this morning I'd said I just search for it and reply again, and I just cannot find it :confused3

So, if you're reading this here's a bit more detail:

When we booked our ADRs I noted on all of them that DS had a nut allergy, which we re-iterated when we checked in for the meal. Without fail every resturaunt had the information and the Chef came to our table to discuss the food that was ok, including T-rex. T-Rex was our DD's birthday and she wanted the 'Volcano' dessert. We hadn't covered this with the Chef so we asked our waiter who said it was fine. When it arrived I thought that the sprinkles looked like nuts and tasted them, sure enough they were. We called the waiter back and he apologised profusly saying that he had forgotten the sprinkles. It was replaced immediately with one that had a biscuit based crumb and a manager came over also to apologise again. I think he gave us the dessert and our drinks for free, but can't remember for sure.

Sorry, didn't mean to scare anybody with the comment, but the thing we learned was to check desserts when the chef was there also.

It's a great fun resturaunt and we will be going back in April.

As a whole Disney are fantastic with allergies

Thanks so much for posting about your experience at T-Rex. This really illustrates how mistakes can still happen, even if you've spoken with the chef and waiter.

I had a great experience with TRex with my Nut allergy, but yes I did order everything from the chef, including dessert. Desserts are the thing that I am usually most paranoid about as they can often have hidden nuts or peanut butter mixed in so it's invisible.

It is so hard when someone just doesn't get how serious an allergy can be and that moment of thoughtlessness by the waiter could have cost a life.

Glad it was all fixed up for you in the end. :goodvibes
