T-Day dining resv.

Okay, I'm not much into making dining reservations. When I'm on vacation I like to eat when I feel like it, so I've never really paid attention to the rules.
When can I make reservations for dinners on Thanksgiving weekend? I need them for each night, Wed.,Thurs., Fri., & Sat. All for 22 people each night. I was thinking Mama Dellas, Mythos (for T-day),Island buffet (luau night) and one other maybe in citywalk. I want to keep in fairly inexpensive & family orientated since my Dad is paying for all of us.
I guess when & who do I talk to are the biggest questons.

I'm really a Kind of eat whenever person myself, so I can't really help you. I know some people have called Mythos directly and made reservations. I tried to do that, and got an answering machine though....

That may be the first thing to do, although I don't have Mythos' number.

As for the other ones, maybe calling the hotel for the Loau (spelling?), adn I can't think for the other one what to do.

Does Universal have dining rules, like Disney. You know 120 days out? 60 days out? I will call Mythos today, they are usually very helpful. Although Mythos probably can't take reservations until the park hours come out.

I don't know if they have the same "Disney" rules. I've never really made reservations, but with that large of a group, you need to do something.

Maybe someone else can enlighten us?

Cheryl, you mentioned the park hours before ressies could be made. I saw US/IOA park hours posted thru dec on www.themeparks.com hope that helps you. Can I suggest Maragritivlle to you as a supper. That place rocks! The kids would have a blast they don't make any bigger deal of having a bar there than any other resturant does. They do sing a longs. It's a very happy place and makes you glad to be there. We loved it so much that we stayed 20 minutes after we completed our meal. (Sorry in advance for the folks waiting for out table.) You can make ressies there they have plenty of room to accomadate you all and like i said the kids would love it there was a ton of children there when we went.

Thanks Tammy, I can't believe they have the hours out already! I thought about Margaritaville but it might be difficult with a large group. I love the poch area! I might talk to them about it when I go in aug.
Maybe Sunset grill? They have that room off to theside. Anyone else ever go with a large group?

I have never heard a specific timeframe for making advance reservations like Disney has...but let's face it, Universal doesn't need that in place the way Disney does. Even at Disney, the only real NEED to call that far in advance is for the Princess dining, and the Hoop Dee Doo...as well as the fireworks cruises. Everything else is pretty easy to get priority seating for with very little notice.
That said, a party of 22, anywhere, definitely needs some kind of advance arrangements made!

Ok...well this just in: the number for Mythos that works is 407-224-4533. Kevin says they only book 30-45 days out...so that answers that, at least for Mythos!

We'll be there tonight...we can ask specifically about Thanksgiving to see what they're thinking, IF they're thinking at this point!

Well, we spoke to Skip the other night...he's one of the managers and he said that he doesn't have any idea WHAT they'll be doing specifically for Thanksgiving yet. But, he DID say to have you call and mention that you're friends of Mr. Henderson (I am also apparently a friend of Mr. Henderson LOL ) and you can make a reservation now. They'll want your phone number etc. so they can be in touch with you as the time draws closer.
