I see a couple places where they have a porterhouse for 2. (Yachtsman, boathouse) but no where for just one. I did see a tbone at trattoria al Forno, but there was no picture.. I was sondering is it had sauce all over it.. or if there is anywhere elase on propery (on the dining plan) with a tbone or porterhouse. thanks!

Shula's has two Porterhouses -- 24 or 48 oz cuts... but, sorry, not on the dining plan.

anyone know of tbones or porterhouses at dinin plan restaurants?

As the OP mentioned, I'd be wary of ordering steak at an Italian restaurant. It may be fine or it may be on the menu just to offer something for people that don't care for Italian food. If that's the case it's quality or preparation might be an afterthought.

T Bone and Porterhouse are in general steak house cuts as they are larger steaks and truthfully if you find a T bone much less a porterhouse at a non steak house it will likely be thin and not very good. In other words if you want one you will need to use 2TS credits. All Disney 1TS serves NY strip steak or similar for that reason... al Forno is the first I have seen for a 1TS but I would be skeptical if you want a real T Bone.

I know what you mean, I am a server at a steakhouse, so I know a bit about steaks. kinda like ordering the steak at a german restaurant. theyused to have a porterhouse at Yachtsman for 1, but not anymore.
the porterhouse is actually made up of the filet and the ny strip. as you get to the end of the linm the filet part gets smaller, and this is where they get the tbone.
my husband didn't care for the ny strips we had at disney (coral reef, grand floridian cafe.)

an another note, I read in a dif. thread that many of the steaks at the boathouse don't come with sides on the DDP, you have to pay OOP for them. (ps I don't mind using 2 credits.. we always throw in a couple signatures when on the "free" dining, as it's a lot of food)

thanks supersnoop! I tried, but I guess you have to subscribe.
I don't have a subscription and it works for me. There's a "go" button above the "subscribe" button in the right-hand column.

Looks like the Turf Club might be your best bet.

...I'd be wary of ordering steak at an Italian restaurant...

Italian/Tuscan restaurants are often one of the best places to get steak! Granted, a true bistecca alla fiorentina is sourced from a specific breed of cattle, but a good Italian restaurant should know its way around a T-bone.

is the 24 oz supposed to be for one?
That's a great question.
It could be. For me, anyway. If it was cooked perfectly rare.

But it would take me a bit of preparation (modified fast during the day -- big breakfast, then lots of liquids to maintain stomach tone), and probably about 45 minutes to eat it.
