T-Ball Coach Gift

We donate the money to Curing Kids Cancer: www.curingkidscancer.org
The coach gets a nice tshirt, a certificate and a letter. The local children's hospital receives a donation to help in the fight against childhood cancer. The coaches where I live love it!

I second this!! Our team has done this for the past two years and the coaches and parents love it!

I know everyone means well with their gifts, but the best gift my husband ever got while he was coaching was a personal letter from one of the girls. She had written about how much fun she had, what she learned, etc. He still talks about that letter years later, but I've never heard him mention the material gifts he received.

I have to second that one. I coached boys soccer for many years and had the same boys all the way through from kindergarten through middle school. The best memories I have of the gifts over the years are the letters I received from the boys and the signed team pictures. Yes, I received gift cards to restaurants, but they have no lasting memories. I also have a clock on my desk at work that says 'Thanks Coach You Made A Difference In Our Lives' that I absolutely cherish. The best advice is to give them something personal from the players, it will mean so much years later.

Now the best gift is one of the boys stopping me when they see me and saying thank you for everything you taught me about sportmanship that has helped me in other areas of my life. These boys are now graduating from high school and it is a wonderful feeling to know you have had an impact on a young person's life.
