db has been to doctors all week and is now in hospital. No one knows what's wrong with him. He started out with really bad headaches for two weeks. Then he developed a fever, shaking, and a rash on his legs. The legs are now covered and swollen. He had numerous blood tests and everything is coming up negative. Anybody ever heard of anything similar?

You can go to www.webmd.com and see what you get. Allergic reaction to something? I had a rash on my entire torso and they put me on antibiotics. It was painful to touch and they decided it was a staf infection.

Have any of the doctors been dermatologists? With the rash and all? Sure do hope for a diagnosis, soon, that must be wearing mentally, so sorry for him and you too. He will be in my prayers.

Lyme Disease often get over looked untill the person is really sick...have they tested him for that??

Best of luck and hope he is feeling better soon!

Keep us updated...

Prayers for him! I hope they find out what it is soon. Wow! RMSF! Scary...I'm STILL taking antibiotics for a tick bite over a week ago. They gave me lit on RMSF and Lyme. Thank goodness, nothing as of yet!! I still have a way to go with the antibiotic. I hope he recovers quickly!!!

Have they tested for West Nile Virus? My DH had all of the same symptoms except the rash when he had West Nile. Best wishes.

yep they've test for ecoli, lyme, and west nile which all came back negative. I did tell him about the rocky mountain one and he's going to call the doctor about that. He also had x-rays to check his lungs and he had his heart checked. So far no one seems to know but they don't seem too concerned that it's contagious.

Have they done an MRI? Anytime there is a sudden severe headache, immediately demand that. I have heard of so many folks misdiagnosed in the beginning.

Also I don't mean to be weird but it really sounds like strep infection. Could it have developed into Scarlet Fever???
I am sure they tested for that, however.

The only thing I can think of is Meningitis. Did they do a spinal tap?

Maybe it is virus such as West Nile or something related to a tick disease?
Rocky Mountain Spotted fever or ehrlichiosis. I know that alot of medical communties sometimes do not test for ehrlichiosis, so make sure you ask.

Anyway those are a few things I thought up. I hope you find things out soon.

Wow, so sorry to hear about your dh, hope they get a diagnosis soon. I was starting to read the post and symptoms before I read robinrs link. and I thought to myself about rmsf too. My girlfriend had that one too. It took them a while to diagnose it. Also my cousin had rat bite fever. It took them forever to get that too. I hope the answers come soon for your dh. Wishing him a swift recovery. I had a massive staph infection too and had a few of the symptoms you described.
