Is it still there at the Magic Kingdom? I know they don't do the whole shebang anymore, but I remember it from when I was a kid. It would be a trip to see it again.

Thanks! :cool1:

Yes.

ago our son, probably about 7 at the time, pulled the sword out. It was not part of the ceremony. He was posing and pulling and it started to come out. Several older kids jumped in line then and tried to pull it out. A CM came over and gave him a certificate naming him a Prince of the Realm because he believed in magic.

He tried a couple of times in later trips. If they still do that it is random.

This is exactly how it's done anymore.

My daughter pulled it out a few years ago. No one came over to give her a certificate, but she was thrilled!!!! We took some pics and she has tried many times since then to no avail.

When my kids pulled it out in June, they did not get a certificate. We did get great photos though, and they were super happy!

Is there are time of day that the sword comes out or is it just luck of the draw (or pull as it may be)?

No known pattern. If there's a PhotoPass photog in the area the odds probably go up, but that's about all you have to go on.

Our 4 year old DD was the first of our five kids to give the sword a tug and it came out of the stone. We were all excited for her. The other four kids were not successful. Our DS who is 9 was less than thrilled that his younger sister pulled it out but he could not. This was in September.

My friends and I went to MNSSHP dressed as characters from The Sword in the Stone. Before I arrived to MK that night, I heard that my friend who was dressed as Wart got to pull the sword out of the stone! :)

Well I have heard, and don't know if it is true, that usually it is the littlest of the group that pulls out the sword. Again, don't know if that is true, but that seemed to be the pattern when it is talked about here on the boards.

Yeah, the CM in charge of the trigger usually gets a kick out of the littlest kid getting to pull it out. My DD finally had success after many tries when I was chatting up a loitering CM a few trips back....

I always wondered if someone is watching (on camera) somewhere in the park and does the trigger.

Where is this located and at which park? I always loved that movie, and I would love to see this "attraction".

I was there on Wednesday past and they in fact did the whole ceremony shebang. My boyfriend got to be part of it but did not get to pull it out. There were musicians, an announcer, the 'contestants' paraded around... The whole deal. It was fantastic.

In Magic Kingdom, on the south side of the carousel facing Cinderella Castle.

They did a ceremony on Monday too

That's interesting, I haven't heard of this happening in a while. Merlin used to be part of it too, as I recall...was he there?
