A couple weeks ago I noticed my right foot swollen along with my ankle. Never had any pain with it. And it went away I think the next day.

Today, both my feet swelled up, the right being the worst one. Now I'm getting a little bit of tingling/numbness from the middle of my calf all the way down my foot.

Any thoughts?

***as far as I know I did not get bit by anything. I did not injure it in any way. :confused3

I think you need to call your Dr. I suppose you could just be retaining water for some reason. But I've also thought of cellulitis and stroke pre-cursors. My leg tingles every once in a while too but I have a reason for it. After breaking my ankle 10+ yrs ago all the hardware in my leg gets a little irritating from time to time.

I don't want to alarm you, but if you're not recovering from any breaks and not pregnant, then i don't think its going to go away on its own.

Please get this checked asap. It could be blood clots. (I had this exact same thing happen 2 years ago). And it developed into dvt's in both legs. I'm on on coumadin for the rest of my life and have to use compression stockings now.

You should see a doctor, I think. This is a symptom of diabetes (but I'm not a doctor--could be a symptom of lots of things.)

Numbness is never good. Please see a doctor as soon as possible.

OP here....

Just wondering....does this problem sound anything like restless leg syndrome? Someone today was telling me that it sounded like that. But I've never heard of RLS having swolleness.

And actually it's not actually "numbness". It doesn't feel like my feet are asleep or anything. It's more of a tingling sensation. It feels better when walking around during the day but when I sit for a longer period of time the tingling acts up.

I drive a school bus, so I'm sitting down all day long. And I also don't sleep lying down in bed (due to a back problem) Sometimes I will sleep in the bed only to wake up a couple hours later and go to my recliner. So I don't know if these factors affect my feet/ankles???

If someone has restless leg syndrome, please tell me what it's like. And if this is something I need to see a doctor about and if there's anything to prescribe for it.

Thanks!!!

My husband has 'restless leg syndrome' but has never had any swelling or numbness, just the feeling that he needs to keep moving his legs.

I agree with the those that have suggested getting this checked out with your doctor ASAP.

Best wishes

OP here....

Ok, here the latest. I made an appt with the doctor for this afternoon.

First, both feet/ankles were swollen on Friday and throughout the weekend. With the right foot being the worst. I also had some tingling when sitting too long. Also throughout the weekend I only wore my Crocs and they continued to be swollen. But Monday it rained, so I put on my sneakers and by the end of the day my foot was back to normal?!?!?! But this morning it was swollen again and has gone down since having my sneakers on. I have since taken them off and feel a tiny bit of tingling in my right foot. But there's no swolleness??? Figures, it'd go back to normal when I have to go to the doctors. Do you think he can figure out what was wrong if there's no swelling? I'm so confused!!!
