I did try search, but couldn't find what I was looking for. Anyone have an idea when in 2019 SWL might open? I read that EOS, Rainforest and something else were being removed for the new hotel. When does it close, or hopefully move to a new location? Historically ticket increase should come next weekend, has anyone heard anything? I wonder if APs are going up at that time as well or maxpass. TIA

There is no official word about anything you have asked. Many speculate that SWL will open for spring or summer 2019. No date other than 2019 has been given by Disney. Earl of Sandwich, Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone, the Starbucks on that end of the DtD, and the AMC theater are all going to be removed to make way for the new hotel. The only date I have seen from Disney is that construction was to begin "this summer". As for when the businesses will close, I haven't heard any announcements yet. An EOS employee told me in November that they were being told their location would close sometime in February. I don't know if that is true or was ever thought to be true; it was just the rumor one employee shared with me. Disney isn't big about announcing their ticket price increases. Historically they occur on Sundays, and they have been in February for at least the last three years although not always the second Sunday. Many of us are expecting there will be a price increase. Often times AP prices go up with ticket prices but not always and not necessarily all tiers. I would be disappointed but unsurprised if MaxPass went up in price.

And someone else heard from a server at rainforest cafe they wouldn't close until July, so no one knows when all that stuff will go away. Nothing hs been announced yet on if any of those places will have another place in DtD or the new new hotel. SWL is solidly "2019". If you're in the market to buy tickets, do it now. No one knows what will happens with this round of price hikes.

As for MP, last time I used it right before Xmas it failed out for part of the day. Which also happened on my previous trip in Sept. At $10/person you could tell people were upset but most were like well, it's just $10. Up that price and fail the system and they could get a lot more angry people, I just don't think it's smart to raise that price until they are solidly out of the system failure woods. Do I expect them to? Yes. Because Disney.

Someone tweeted that they thought the price increase would be on the 11th, but they did not clarify how they knew that information. As usual, if you already have solid plans to visit the parks this year, it can't hurt to buy vouchers or tickets now at the current price. As long as the expiration date on the tickets or vouchers goes until the end of this year, you'll be covered.

I agree with theluckyrabbit. For the past three years Disneyland ticket price increases have come in February, on the same date as WDW. Here are the dates:
2017 - February 12
2016 - February 28
2015 - February 22 (annual pass prices increased later - October 4)

I really hope they don't increase MaxPass anytime soon. We are a family of 6 and travel on a budget. I think Maxpass will make our trip in June a lot easier, but spending $250 more (our youngest is under 3) for our 5 day passes is already a stretch. It would be hard for us to justify spending even more on convenience.

You may be able to get by without purchasing MP for every day of your trip. That would stretch your budget a bit farther. Other posters have reported alternating MP days with regular free FP days, e.g. only buying MP on the busiest days of their trip. That way, they still get all the advantages of FP, get the free PhotoPass benefit on their MP days, and use MP to full advantage on the most crowded days.

We were just in the parks on Saturday and I was asked for my email address. They sent me a survey on the value of the parks. I'm having a hard time answering it. Based on all the things boarded up, I'd say the value on Saturday was not great. DH thinks they should be offering discounts right now and said he doesn't want to go back until they are finished. Main Street was especially bad. My overall opinion of the parks is better. I'm not sure what to tell them on the survey. I'm wondering if they are trying to judge price increases. I'd say it is a really bad time to announce a price increase with so many areas of the parks walled off.

Tell them exactly how you felt. The value wasn't there this last trip for you.
