Switching Travel Agents?

We booked a VGT for our cruise in November and booked through Dreams Unlimited to get the OBC and to have someone that could call Disney if needed.

Well I’m really struggling with our assigned agent (responsiveness, lack of information, etc.). Since it’s already paid off, I know I’m limited on options. Anyone ever request a new agent within Dreams? Or am I SOL and gotta call Disney myself for help instead of wasting days going back and forth with my agent. 😵‍💫

Will DCL even discuss it with you since a TA is handling the reservation?
 

Our DU agent is a little flat and clearly not experienced with what we booked either. Good thing I know what I'm doing and just booked with them for the OBC! Sympathy.
 
I got an email a couple weeks ago that our Dreams agent is leaving the company and our reservation was being assigned to a new agent. I wonder if maybe you are in that situation as well and that is why your agent is non responsive ?
 
I planned to use an agent, and reached out to an agency many Disney planning sites recommend, and was so turned off and frustrated by the email exchanges with the agent that responded that I gave up and booked it myself. I "lost" $50 OBC but felt much more in control and didn't have someone wasting my time.

Sorry you're dealing with an unresponsive agent :( I'm sorta glad the agent that I originally talked to showed her abilities (or lack thereof) right from the onset so I could avoid booking through her! I'd probably dealing with the same thing.

I hope you get some help soon.

Thank you! I’m sorry you had to deal with similar frustrations. We booked our first Disney cruise without an agent. I really enjoy the planning aspect and didn’t need the help per se but through that process learned that if I actually did need to call DCL, I’d be stuck dealing with the long wait times. That and the $200 OBC made me want to try an agent out. I definitely wish I could just do it all myself! 😅

If you get the right agent and agency there is no frustration and an OBC. I've had the same agent for many years and always get a response the same day.

I was looking to try RCL before a possible Mediterranean cruise in 2024. They are a lot cheaper than DCL but international flights are expensive so I wanted to try RCL because cruise and flight is a lot cheaper than just the cruise price for DCL. I figured I would use the same TA to make things easier. There are lots of agencies so I figured if she drops the ball again I can just look elsewhere.

A friend of mine had a similar experience with a TA and ended up doing the same thing. It baffles me how anyone who makes their money through commissions just doesn’t reply or make it easy to book - like I’m trying to give you my money?? 😂

I don’t let it bother me. Stuff slips through the cracks sometimes. As an IT person I’m not a huge fan of e-mail only communications because spam filters grab legit emails all the time. They didn’t have a form for RCL quotes so I had to email for my quote. There was one other time my TA missed an email from me I had to have an old colleague of mine email her because I wasn’t getting a response. I think that time I ended up in her junk e-mail folder.
