Switching to FD online, how difficult?

Hi all,

I've used a TA for my previous trips but considering booking everything online myself next time. My question is that if I went ahead and booked what I wanted prior to FD being released, how difficult is it to switch? Assuming the same resort and room type were available of course. Do I have to totally cancel and rebook the reservation? Will I lose my deposit for doing so? I would prefer to do this online as I am in Australia, but if need be I could also ring reservations.

To do it online you would need to make a new reservation and then cancel the old reservation. The deposit from the first would be returned to you.

If you call they can just make the switch and keep the deposit and the same reservation number.
